Against other Lakers -- Ron Artest and Lamar Odom, largely -- Dirk is 13-32 (41 percent). On the one hand, why is Jackson leaving Gasol on Nowitzki at all? But Phil should be able to trust his No. 2 player to play smart defense, even if he gets burned a little. OMLORD, how did we not know this? Phil is said to be one of the greatest coaches in NBA history. Let's see it in Game 4. Most Laker fans have known how effective Odom is at defending Dirk for years.
