Verlander one out away from a no-no.

He got it. Second of his career. He faced the minimum 27 batters. Just walked Arencibia in the 8th inning on a close 3-2 pitch but erased the BB with a DP.

Second no-hitter in the last week. Ironically a day before Mother's Day a year after Braden threw his perfect game on Mother's Day.

Gallardo took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against St. Louis.

How do you call #5 and #12 balls in the 8th inning of a perfect game?

Number 12 was off the plate. I didn't see number 5, but from what I've read, it was definitely a strike.

It's the 8th inning of a perfect game.. if it's close to the black, you make the batter swing. Umpire blew it.. again. Poor Tigers.

Looks like Gallardo is back in his 2010 form. :)

And jeez, another no no? That's like the 15th one in the last 7 months of regular season baseball. :P

Oh, and lol to the White Sox somehow getting 14 hits in 5 2/3 innings. Especially since they still only got 5 runs out of it.

Everything from here onwards was meant to be in this thread.

Ethier's hitting streak is over at 30.

I know because I was there :)
