Erick Blasco
I am SO excited for this game. Two good teams fairly evenly matched. Both teams play pretty well. Both teams have some flaws. There's an unstoppable force vs. immovable object matchup of the Grizzlies frontcourt on offense vs. the Thunder's defensive frontcourt, plus Kevin Durant vs. Tony Allen. Both teams have heart. This should be a blast. I can't wait until 3:30 Eastern Time*!!! * 12:30 Pacific
The Regime
^Same here. It's going to be interesting to see how many shots Durant gets off today in comparison to Westbrook. I would think that Scott Brooks emphasized getting Durant the ball more after last game, if they are gonna lose they might as well lose on his shoulders. Westbrook was given well-deserved flak early in the series for jacking up awful shots and not moving the ball, but Durant couldn't get himself open in Game Six. I want to see how that situation is rectified.
Make It Naaaashty
Hopefully Memphis can pull this one out somehow but as I said before, HCA is going to determine this series.
EastCoastNiner
Hopefully when I get back from work, Fish will not have creamed his pants when talking about Westbrook because he can't handle people complimenting and criticizing players. You are never allowed to say players did not perform well to Fish.
Erick Blasco
Yet another instance of a Thunder player getting his dribble poked away. Memphis' quick hands have made a killing on the defensive end.
Erick Blasco
Mayo made a mistake there not boxing out.
Erick Blasco
Great great contest by Allen to block Durant's three.
Erick Blasco
Westbrook dribble poked out of bounds---that's what, the third deflection by the Grizzlies? That's another reason why the Thunder offense has been so ineffective this series at having continuity.
Erick Blasco
The Thunder are icing wing/screen/rolls, but they aren't recovering or rotating out to Randolph. He's made two jumpers early. This will get his confidence up.
ChosenOne
Good play by Allen going right into Durant on the break.
Erick Blasco
Great step up by Gasol, great job by Allen at cutting off Durant's right side, Durant bricks a runner. For such a great scorer, few players shoot more ugly shots than Durant. Even LeBron is better.
Erick Blasco
You know, this is a reputation game for the Thunder, a lot like Game Four was. Durant was extremely clutch in that game, and Westbrook made some huge plays. However, in this game, the Thunder are going to need Durant to get shots that he wants to take, and shots going to the basket. He couldn't escape the Grizzlies ball denial and only looked to shoot jumpers in Game Six. That won't be good enough. He can't score off the dribble early in Game Seven either. And we've already seen Westbrook abort one possession with a bad shot.
ChosenOne
Durant with his second foul?
Erick Blasco
Nice use of the pump fake to shed Allen. That's one way to create an easier shot. And nice defense by Collison. He's battled Randolph to a draw this series. Whoever wins that matchup could be huge.
Erick Blasco
Collison has already made a difference---two good defensive plays, plus a putback.
Make It Naaaashty
Why did Battier spot up for three on that fastbreak? lol he had a lay up....
The Regime
Kevin Durant is forcing up so many bad shots... Edited May 15, 2011 by Confidence248
ChosenOne
Durant is forcing up some serious garbage right now.
Erick Blasco
Perkins takes so much time to gather himself---it allows the Grizzlies defense to gather and contest his layup. Collison has two blocks. What a huge start he's had in this game with his energy, his defense, and his hard work.
Make It Naaaashty
Bad decision by Conley, he had no one around him and his pump fake wasn't needed. That led an easy fastbreak lay up for Russel on the other side.
Erick Blasco
Kevin Durant is forcing up so many bad shots... Because as JVG said, he's not a good enough passer to draw and dish. He wants to get to the rim. His mindset is better. But he's not a strong enough player to score in extreme traffic, and his court vision isn't MVP-caliber to make great passes. Erick Blasco
Good help by Westbrook to contest Gasol's fadeaway as we see Harden make a play off the pass.
Erick Blasco
Battier has had a rough start on offense.
