Showtime16
Top 3 Needs: PG SF SGEverybody is expendable the Pistons glory days left with Cauncey Buillups. They have good players but they are all out of their primes. Only Austin Daye, Greg Monroe, Rodney Stuckey, and possibly Jonas Jerebko have a secure future in Detroit. Rodney Stuckey is a possible six man of the year candidate as a combo scorer off the bench. Ford is an average PG with good leadership skill for a very young team. I think Memphis would take Rip Hamilton Villanueva Ben Gordon and Will Bynum or any combination of these four for Mayo and Ish Smith. The trade makes them more Title ready now rather then building up for the title.
The Regime
I quickly skimmed over the post, but in all honesty I cant see the Pistons winning over 15 games with that lineup. OJ Mayo and Stuckey are the only guys who are borderline starter material. You can still get way more value for Hamilton, Villanueva Gordon, and Bynum; they aren't washed up. ?QuestionMark?
Trade doesn't come close to working. Allen and Mayo are a better duo than Gordon and Rip at this point. Plus with Gay coming back they probably don't need more scoring. Memphis can get a player comparable to Charlie via FA if they want. Detroit pretty much shot themselves in the foot with the Gordon and Charlie deals. Not a good sitation in Motown. They just have to grind out the next few years and just make good draft selections and smart trades.

LOL However Rip brings playoff exp witch management overvalues sometimes Gordon can score Gay is up in the air Mayo is not untouchable for the Grizz just saying. Im not saying this is going to happen just giving examples of what the teams need to do to rebuild.

Monroe is going to be a solid starer in the league. We don't know what type of player the rookie big will be and Rip Villanueva and Gordon you need to get what you can for them what ever that is. Where were the Pistons when the Playoffs came around this year with them as their core? The Pistons Glory days left with Chauncey Oh and this isn't the only trade it was just the quickest for me to write up at the time.
