reno
If the miami heat won the number 1 pick in the 2008 draft and got Derrick rose, how much different do you think they would have panned out? Would lebron james and Chris bosh still have joined the heat? http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2011/0519/espnChi_rose_heat_576.jpg Edited May 21, 2011 by Sweet Roses
fish7718
Probably a moot point because they needed a F and Beasley looked just as good as Rose at the time of the 08 draft...
SRV
Who knows. I think Rose and Wade would have been good enough to contend, and then this past off season we would have signed one or two solid FA and moved on. Stumbled across this article on espn today, and it came across my mind http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=6568064 Edited May 21, 2011 by Sweet Roses
Check my Stats
Rose would have got dealt like Beasley because he wouldn't have gotten an opportunity to develop to what he is now. Not saying Beasley and Rose are one in the same, but Rose would be half the player he is today, and even if he was the player he is right now, you still get rid of him to make room for LBJ and Bosh. SRV
Beasley was horrible though. He had a few good games here and there, but most of the time he was average. Rose would have been handling the ball and him and Wade both being slashers would have destroyed other teams. Beasley rarely took it to the rim. I doubt we would have dumped Rose if it came down to it. You don't let a developing PG just walk out.

LeBron is an inherent passer and trusts his teammates much more than I think Rose does.
