Dr. Feelgood
Rich Cho is out as the Portland Trail Blazers' general manager, the team said Monday. The team said it "parted ways" with Cho, who had been on the job less than a year. "The fit between Rich and our team simply wasn't right," Trail Blazers team president Larry Miller said in a statement from the team. "This was a tough move because I respect Rich and he's a good person with many strong skills. But it simply wasn't a good match."http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6580405 For the second time in less than one year, the Portland Trail Blazers have parted ways with their general manager. The team announced Monday that they have parted ways with Rich Cho. Chad Buchanan, the team's director of college scouting, has been elevated to acting general manager.http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2011/05/portland_trail_blazers_general.html
?QuestionMark?
Is Paul Allen becoming as senile as Al Davis?
Dash
He signs the steal of the 2010 free agency (Wesley Matthews) and then trades for Gerald Wallace and gets fired? What a mess of a franchise. WojYahooNBA Adrian WojnarowskiWith Paul Allen, Larry Miller and Vulcans, no GM will ever please them. They want a weak-minded person willing to be controlled. A waste. Sun Tzu
Yeah, I do not understand this at all. Maybe there's something going on behind the scenes that has caused his departure or maybe a disagreement in the team's future.
Newman
Apparently the acting general manager (Buchanan) was the one who signed Matthews. Nonetheless, Rich Cho is a good GM and he should not be fired if this firing was based on performance. On the bright side, at least this time they didn't ask him to do their draft before firing him. Dr. Feelgood
Supposedly between Allen and Cho, it was "love at first sight" as they met on one of Allen's Yachts and with both of them being complete computer nerds, they hit it off instantly. As the season went off, they became very distant with each other. Also, like Woj said in the quote above, it seems like they want a weak minded GM....It'll be very....interesting to see how things go down. The Regime
Didn't he say that he expected Brandon Roy to be suspended after he went public about his lack of playing time in the playoffs? I wonder if that has a hand in his firing.
