headliner
Thompson has been working on his jumper with former NBA player and coach John Lucas in Houston, shooting about a thousand shots a day. The workouts also include Cory Joseph, another Canadian who has known Thompson since the two were both 10 and who also was Thompson’s teammate at Findlay Prep.If Thompson can hit some shots in his pre-draft workout with Toronto, that certainly would help his chances of being taken by his hometown team. Going No. 5 to the Raptors would likely be the highest possible selection for Thompson.Thompson grew up a big fan of the Raptors. He recalls receiving autographs from Toronto stars Vince Carter and Rafer Alston as well as getting to know former Raptor and current Heat forward Chris Bosh. “I think it (would) be a national headline, especially with Toronto the only NBA team in Canada and having a hometown kid come back,” Thompson said of going to the Raptors. “It’s almost like the Derrick Rose effect (of the Chicago native going to the Bulls) maybe times two.”If it doesn’t happen, Thompson simply will continue his traveling ways. NJ.com If nothing were to work out in this draft for the raptors I would love nothing more to finally see a Canadian drafted by the raptors especially a good guy like Tristan. Check my Stats
Not interested in a role player at 5. It'd make for a nice story, but he is basically a poor man's Ed Davis by the sounds of things.
Built Ford Tough
Not interested in a role player at 5. Well, that is what the Raptors will likely get at 5. There is a chance that a guy like Knight, Valanciunas, Kanter, Walker or anybody else who is linked to the Raptors may develop into an All-Star or great starter, but there is just as good of a chance of him being nothing more than good role player. I'd be happy withe the Raptors getting a solid starter or a 25-30 minute 6th man from this draft to be honest with you. Anything else would be gravy. headliner
He is not worthy of pick number 5 that is not what I’m suggesting but if there were a way to acquire him via trade or buying pick to draft him I think would be great for the organization.
