Owner Real Deal Posted May 24, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted May 24, 2011 http://mit.zenfs.com/222/2011/05/macho-man-elizabeth.jpg Over one-quarter of the performers who took part in 1991's Wrestlemania VII have died, a wrestling website noted in the wake of the death of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. The Wrestling Observer newsletter discovered that 14 of the 51 performers at the event have died in the past 20 years, with many of the deaths attributed to drug use. The list of wrestlers who have died since 1991 include some of the biggest stars in the sport like Savage, Andre the Giant, Miss Elizabeth and The British Bulldog. Causes of death include suicides, murder and heart attacks, some the result of years of anabolic steroid use. Savage died last week after suffering an apparent heart attack behind the wheel of his truck. His ex-wife, Miss Elizabeth, passed away after overdosing on a variety of drugs in 2003. http://mit.zenfs.com/222/2011/05/Screen-shot-2011-05-23-at-1.59.39-PM.jpg As wrestlinginc.com points out, none of the 44 starters from the Super Bowl played in 1991 have passed away and only two of 44 boxers who held a championship belt that year are gone.http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/post/Over-25-percent-of-the-performers-from-Wrestlema?urn=top-wp132

Dash
Wow that is ridiculous. I think it says a lot about the WWE as a company when so many of their employees have died from causes that are/might be drug related. Jeff Hardy might be the only wrestler they ever caught with a drug problem and that is only because it was so obvious.

BasX
Savage died pretty young (relatively) but seeing he is 11 years older than the 2nd oldest guy is insane.
EastCoastNiner
Don't forget Jake Roberts, and I believe the Ultimate Warrior got the boot for it as well. I had been playing a lot of WWE All-Stars recently, and I had the weirdest dream with the Ultimate Warrior being involved a few weeks ago. . fish7718
There has always been a dark cloud, at least to me, in the behind the scenes shit that goes on in the WWE...always will be...
