The Lone Granger
ProBasketballDraft.com refers to itself as a "professional scouting and draft sited offered by league insiders." Translation meaning take this news with a grain-of-salt, but this site has broke stories in the past. In this latest post, the Bulls are expected to explore deals for Carlos Boozer due to his poor play in the 2011 Playoffs, especially on the defensive end. Talk of the Thunder looking to move out of the first-round due has also been reported previously by league insiders.According to ProBasketballDraft.com, on twitter: Word around the league is that OKC has put their pick on the block. Chicago wants to move up also. #Thunder #Bulls Speculation that the Bulls will explore deals with Boozer & might be willing to package 28 &/or 30 to help. CHI alarmed by his lapses on d. http://www.iamagm.com/news/2011/06/04/rumors.bulls.explore.deals.carlos.boozer.okc.looking.trade.first.round.pick I'll tell you what...if the Bulls trade Boozer and get a good wing player, they will be nasty to try and stop. Down the stretch they played very well with Taj Gibson in Boozer's place, and that's what would happen if a trade were to happen. That being said, what teams could you guys see being interested in a Boozer trade, and what would they have to give up? Thoughts?
reno
I would love to get rid of boozer, but I just don't see it happening, specially after just one year. Not sure who would want to take his contract either.
Nitro
With his contract and awful playoff performance, the only trade possibility I see would be similar to the Arenas-Lewis deal where they get an equally crappy return.
ChosenOne
I say stick with him for another year, you really cant judge him off a year where he wasn't really healthy. How many games did Rose-Bogans-Deng-Boozer-Noah play together anyways?
?QuestionMark?
I don't know that they should give up on his this quick. They also will probably have a hard time dumping him. I don't know many teams that'll be willing to take him at his contract. Like someone said above, it almost has to be a case where you deal a bad contract for another bad one. The teams that might take him are teams that feel they are a piece away. Maybe Portland for Roy. But does Chicago risk it? Maybe in a four way deal where Detroit dumps Charlie V and Gordon while Boozer goes to a contender. Maybe OKC would do it since they aren't getting much offense from their bigs. But they also have Ibaka who they love. Maybe SA makes one last run and does a deal involving Jefferson. NJ maybe if they feel they'll strike out on Howard. Or trade him to Dallas. Cubcan doesn't care about spending. He might feel Boozer would make a great 6th man.
Cleveland's Finest
They need to trade either Boozer or Gibson for a SG. Both are starting PF's and as we saw in the playoffs, the minute distribution was tough between the two.
