The Goods
http://www.eduinreview.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/kanye_west.jpg Kanye West thinks he can fill the void left by Michael Jackson and become the next 'King of Pop'. (BANG) - Kanye West wants to become the next Michael Jackson. The 'Love Lockdown' star believes he is capable of ascending to the musical throne the 'King of Pop' has left following his death in June. Kanye told Scrape TV: "You know everyone loves and respects Michael but times change. It's so sad to see Michael gone but it makes a path for a new 'King of Pop' and I'm willing to take that on. "There's nobody who can match me in sales and so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael's crown and become the new 'King'." The hip-hop star also likened himself to another 'King' - Elvis Presley. He said: "First there was Elvis, then there was Michael, now in the 21st century it is Kanye's time to rule. "I have nothing but respect for Michael but someone needs to pick up where he left off and there's nobody better than me to do that. I am the new King of Pop." http://celebedge.ca/Bell.Sympatico.CMS/CmsTemplates/JE/JE_FeedsArticleTemplate_LeftZone_186.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRNODEGUID={D8BFACBE-2B50-4E85-885C-7FFD426D218D}&NRORIGINALURL=%2fBang%2fContentPostingBang3column%3fnewsitemid%3dBSBS72498%26feedname%3dBANG%26show%3dFalse%26number%3d0%26showbyline%3dTrue%26subtitle%3d%26detect%3d%26abc%3dabc%26date%3dFalse&NRCACHEHINT=Guest&feedname=BANG&number=0&newsitemid=BSBS72498&showbyline=True&abc=abc&show=False&date=False Edited August 1, 2009 by The Goods

Doc
WAS JUST LISTENING TO WENDY WILLIAMS AND HEARD SOME QUOTE ABOUT ME SAYING I'M THE NEW KING OF POP. NOT ONLY DID I NOT SAY THAT, I HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING. IT MAKES ME FEEL BAD THAT OBVIOUSLY I MADE PEOPLE FEEL THAT I WOULD BE CORNY ENOUGH TO SAY SOMETHING SO WHACK AFTER THE PASSING OF AN IDOL, A LEGEND AND MORE THAN THAT A HUMAN BEING WITH FEELINGS AND FAMILY. IT SCARES ME TO THINK WHAT PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE WITHOUT EVEN A SOURCE. ANY RANDOM PERSON CAN TYPE SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET AND THEN THE WORLD BELIEVES IT. I DON'T TALK TO PRESS OR DO TV OR DO PROMOTIONS OF ANY SORT. I'VE STOPPED CHASING AND BUYING INTO FAME. FAME IS LIKE CIGARETTES WITH NO SURGEON GENERAL WARNING. IT DESTROYS MOST PEOPLE AS IT DID TO THE TRUE AND ONLY KING OF POP. WE EXPLOIT OURSELVES AND EAT OUR OWN EGOS 'TILL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT. I HAVE A FEELING THAT THIS WON'T BE THE LAST FALSE STATEMENT WITH MY NAME ON IT, BUT THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I DEFEND MYSELF. I'M DONE. from his blog
andreusito
There's tons of people who just sing and he's one just like them. To be the king you have to be a pure show and he isn't. At all.
Guru
Well, he has a better chance of becoming the new King of Pop than becoming the new King of Hip-Hop. His music is a lot more "pop" than "hip hop" imo.

billt chamberlain
kanye gets influenced by everything around him, while michael influenced everything arouhd him. there really is no competition. kanye doesn't know if he wants to be a gangster(sometimes), backapacker, producer, rapper, pop artist, singer, fashion artist, normal person, hated person, etc. most of the times. he changes up way too often and shows that he is just trying to fit in by being different(which doesn't make sense, but it does). too many people are trying hard not to be normal now by being different that it makes them normal. Check my Stats
"There's nobody who can match me in sales and so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael's crown and become the new 'King'." It sounded suspect when I read this, Kanye didn't even smash 50 that bad and 50 has fell off. There are multiple, not only rappers, artists that could and do outsell Kanye.
