YugoRocketsFan
They just wanted it more, the Mavs knew their window was closing and Heat knew they were gonna be in the next few finals so they arent playing as hard as the Mavs.

Nitro
Simply put, the Heat over-rotated constantly on the Mavs' amazing ball movement, Carslile made all the right adjustments while Spo did not (along with Spo not installing a proper offense throughout the pre and regular seasons), and LeBron had the most disappointing series in NBA Finals history. SRV
We just sucked. The team that beat Boston and Chicago did not show up. Joel Anthony was a ghost, Lebron played horrible, Bosh had average games, and the defense was horrible. On top of that, we resorted to using Eddie House in the rotation and it screwed up our defense. Its just the first season, and for having a brand new team, getting to the finals is pretty good. Just sucks that I have to sit through another regular season before we get back to this. JYD
I don't agree with that at all. The Mavs just outplayed them...especially in the 4th quarter of virtually every game. The Heat also got outcoached. Mavs were getting great looks while the Heat always seemed to be struggling to get good looks for Wade Bosh and LeBron. Check my Stats
They won because LBJ is still waiting for his championship(s) to be given to him. He'll grow up and realize he needs to be much better soon, hopefully.
Sun Tzu
I think the Mavs won because they were more hungry, seriously. You could tell Dirk was EXTREMELY hungry and wanted the ring so bad, just look at how he just walked into the change room instead of celebrating. This is definitely a great day for Dirk and the Mavs. Hard work pays off. Edited June 13, 2011 by Sun Tzu

Owner Real Deal Posted June 13, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted June 13, 2011 Dallas won it all because LeBron and Wade are too similar, Bosh didn't get enough respect in this series and should've had the ball more, and LBJ was intimidated in the 4th quarters, passing up shots and even throwing up a few airballs throughout the series. Because of the similarities and the intimidation factor, the Heat couldn't get to the line enough against a Dallas team that had defensive specialists at three positions on the court, including a defensive anchor.  I've said it all year: the Heat have to get to the line to win. They win games at the charity stripe. Huge props to Kidd and Marion, for the defense they played on LeBron (and Wade, late in games). Same to Chandler and his efforts in closing up the paint and doing his best against Bosh at the same time. Dallas wanted it, but I can't be convinced that Miami didn't. LeBron left Cleveland because he wanted a championship, badly. So did Bosh. Wade was taking over the series so he could win a ring, putting up 25-30 point games. The Mavericks won this championship. The Heat didn't win it for them.
Abro
^ Yes you've said ALL year.. You want a medal or something? Seriously what's your point? Its not because lebron and wade are too similar or else they wouldn't have gotten past chicago (or boston I guess too) because they have a better D than dallas. Its simply because lebron didn't show up in the finals, he was never in attack mode and seemed out of it the entire series, mentally that is. Yes it was defense, but like I think you've said.. Deng is the best defensive sf in the league. Correct me if im wrong please lol. Deng is a much better defender than marion and I honestly just think it was mostly lebrons fault. Its mostly mental imo.. And he was mentally out of it all series.

Its mostly mental imo.. And he was mentally out of it all series.Deng is a better defender than Marion, but Marion had help from Chandler, Kidd and even Stevenson. Funny thing is, I'm sure that LeBron actually shot worse in the Chicago series...but Dallas defended LeBron better in the fourth than any team has all season long, and it was because their offensive threats weren't required to hold James AND score, much like Chicago's were, when Rose was playing badly and Deng needed to focus more on offense. Nah, I don't want a medal. I'm satisfied with what happened tonight. LeBron didn't attack the rim on purpose? Wrong. He couldn't. Never in attack mode? He seemed to be when he made his first four shots tonight. If you want to know why LeBron and the Heat failed, you can look no further than the zone defense that Dallas played, and the excellent individual defenders they were putting on the court at once. The zone defense also caused LeBron a ton of problems in the Boston series last season, didn't it? He had trouble getting off the shots he wanted because, like Dallas, the Celtics had someone in the paint (KG and Perk) and individual defenders in Pierce and Tony Allen. Similar problem for LeBron, similar results. Wade and LeBron aren't similar? Both are slashing superstars who can make the play out of penetrations, both are excellent help defenders, and both eat up ISO situations when only one of them is on the court. Ironically, the team seems to be better when one of them is sitting the bench, and there's a reason for that...look no further than this post. Not sure what else to tell you. The Mavs won because they were the better team, they trusted their zone defense, and they had the best clutch player on the court with, by far, the best bench, and a true defensive anchor, a higher IQ, and a better coach. Championship recipe.
Abro
I wasn't trying to say that they werent similar at all.. Because that's 100% false. I was saying that i didn't think that was the biggest problem. And I never said that the heat were the better team. If that were true they would've won.. Haha. congrats to the mavs on the win! Haha and hopefully we get it next year
CaliCurbStomppa
Hey guys i have telll you this remind me when Steelers won Super Bowl with Bettis. Just like Dallas wanted to win it for Kidd, Dirk, and Jet. Look back in 2005 nobody believed Steelers could do it because we choke and nobody would give us a chance but we proved everyone wrong. Same for Dallas, they didnt even think they could get out of first round or complete with the Lakers but they proved us wrong and now they are the champion of the world... Im happy for Dirk b/c hes such a great player... Just wanted point that out what u think guys?
Oliver P
Dallas wanted it, but I can't be convinced that Miami didn't. LeBron left Cleveland because he wanted a championship, badly. So did Bosh. Wade was taking over the series so he could win a ring, putting up 25-30 point games. The Mavericks won this championship. The Heat didn't win it for them. Quoted for the truth. Honestly this is possibly the worst excuse I've ever heard... Heat didn't want to win as much ? As Real Deal said the reason why LeBron left Cleveland, and the ONLY reason why, is because he wanted to win a ring. He could have made much more money if he stayed in Cleveland, or if he went to New York... Same for Bosh.  Besides if Bosh didn't want to win that much why did he cry in the locker ? Same for Wade (despite the fact that he already has a ring), he literally fell on the floor crying on his way to the locker room... They were all devastated. They all wanted to win it all THIS YEAR. And the reason why they did not was because the Mavs were better. Plain and simple. PERIOD. Also I wouldn't be so sure that the Heat made the Finals the following years... First let's not forget that most people were sure that they would win FOR SURE this year, well we all saw what happened.. there's no guarantee for that at all.Especially that LeBron was absolutely terrible for the last four games, the minute he started to struggled he never managed to get back to his best level. I already gave examples of players who lost their basketball in the past because of stuff like that, the same thing can happen to LeBron. Especially that, the least we can say is that he certainly didn't show that he was solid mentally, quite the opposite... So I wanna see how LeBron is gonna react next year after this terrible performance. As well as the entire Heat team in fact, this first year failure is gonna be VERY hard to get over, there is no doubt about that.

So I wanna see how LeBron is gonna react next year after this terrible performance. Â I agree, I am really curious to see how LeBron comes back next season. If he does the sensible thing and analyzes his weaknesses that were exposed against Dallas, I think he can come back better than ever. However, if he is content with how he performed in the Finals, then I'd be a little concerned...he can't fall into the trap of thinking he is good enough and won't continue to try to improve like he did each and every season before this year. Â I don't think the Heat will have much issue getting over what happened this year, however. Even though a lot of people expected them to win this season, a lot also didn't think they'd get past Boston. No team has ever literally been built from scratch like this team was, so getting to within 2 games of a championship and losing to a team that swept the reigning 2x champs is not a failure (even though it seemed that way). Once they have a little time to settle down and really evaluate how this season went (especially Spo who has the chance to seriously improve this team by making simple adjustments), I think they have a great chance to be significantly better next season, even with minimal personel upgrades. 3pointgod
I don't believe in all this "they wanted it more" nonsense. Don't you think LeBron wanted that championship sooooo bad to shut every one up, like me? Of course he did. But Dallas is a better team, the Heat relied on pure athleticism to get as fas as they did but in the end two stars, well only one in the Finals, can't beat a well rounded team. If LeBron learns some post moves and a little bit about playing offense without the ball, things will be different next year. They also need some kind of consistency in regards to perimeter shooting. Look at the Mavs, complete team. You have Dirk who proved he is the most unstoppable offensive force in the league. You have a distributing point guard who has made the third most 3's in NBA history and can defend and rebound outstandingly from his position, J Kidd. Throw in Chandler a glass eater and the perimeter shooting of Terry and you can see how LeBron and his girlfriend lost in 6. I seriously hope that LeBron never wins, but honestly he'll probably win at least 2 before it's all over.
