Best spots to win money are the card games, like black jack. Also, traffic anywhere near the strip SUCKS. Especially with all the construction going on. But if you're on foot or take cabs you'll be fine. Have fun man. I went out to Vegas in January to visit my bud that lives out there, and I had a good time.
