Built Ford Tough
Yeah, the Cavs really butchered this pick, at least at first glance. Valanciunas is the ideal player that you want beside a point guard like Kyrie Irving. Nice size and length, very good pick and roll player, solid athleticism (for his size), good finisher and doesn't need the ball to be effective on offense. I think that the two of them could've been a poor mans Chris Paul/Tyson Chandler pick and roll threat. All of that is nice and all, but the biggest reason why I would go with Valanciunas is for the simple fact that I think he is a better prospect than Thompson. Thomspon may be the safer pick, but Valanciunas is definitely the better prospect.
?QuestionMark?
Jonas. He's the BPA and a potential anchor. It's not like Cleveland is gonna make the playoffs any time soon, so it's worth waiting for him to come over.
Newman
I went with Vesely because they still have Varejao and Jamison and that having Vesely as well as Eyenga would give them an explosive 2-3 duo.
Cleveland's Finest
I would pick Vesely. Jonas is too big a risk and Vesely give more athleticism. Regardless of the JJ trade that got us Casspi, I wish they would've gone with someone other than Thomspon. BUT I hope he works out. Built Ford Tough
So you think Valanciunas is too big of a risk, so you would pick Vesely instead? Ok...
The Regime
Cleveland has a lot of holes to fill, so they cant gamble on the pick. They already have a decent frontcourt, but in their current state they have to take the best player available which is Jonas Valanciunas. He can not only make a impact on both sides of the floor, but he compliments Kyrie the best among the group.
