Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her flat in north London, police said. She was 27 years old.

The soul singer struggled with drink and drug addictions. Her death is being treated as unexplained.

"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 4:05 pm (1505 GMT) today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased," a police statement said.

"On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."

Winehouse pulled out of a recent comeback tour following a disastrous performance in Serbia.

The singer initially pulled out of festival shows in Istanbul and Athens but her management then cancelled all her remaining gigs.

The jokes are neither funny or appropriate...

The 27 Club, also occasionally known as the Forever 27 Club or Club 27, is a name for a group of influential rock music artists who died at the age of 27. The 27s: The Greatest Myth of Rock & Roll details the history of the phenomenon.

RIP

i cant get over the fact that this story is getting more publicity than the 92 people that got killed in Norway

Or the amount of military men and women being killed overseas, but the reason that isn't being shown on CNN, ABC, NBC, ect. as much is very obvious

It's actually quite pathetic that stories like this get more attention than the Norway killings and military men and women dying in the line of duty. It's a damn shame.

Not surprised that you left out Fox, although you're correct, in a way.

Fox would rather talk about Obama. Three times today, I've turned the channel to Fox News, and they are on Obama's ass, which is no shocker. Today, I wouldn't drop my jaw if Fox decided to talk Obama over a massive earthquake hitting the coast of our country.

In fact, turn it on right now. Fourth time I've surfed channels today. They are 4/4.

First off, I watch CNN a lot more than I watch Fox News, but it's pretty obvious why I left them off the list. They are a station that at least gives a shit about our troops, and doesn't seem to "forget" about them. Look, 60% of the deaths in Afghanstahn for U.S. troops have been since Obama took office, so all I'm saying is that it's no surprise that the more liberal stations aren't talking about the troops deaths, yet that's all you would hear about when Bush was in office.

I'm not trying to turn this into an Obama thread, but I'm telling you why people aren't hearing about the troops often, and that's because of these stations that tend to support Obama.
