Cobb
Major League Baseball is taking "very seriously" the allegations that Alex Rodriguez took part in some illegal, underground poker games, one of which reportedly turned violent, and he could face suspension if his participation in the games is confirmed. "We're talking to people involved in the investigation and we're taking this very seriously," said an MLB executive who spoke to ESPNNewYork.com on condition of anonymity. "Because he had been warned about this before, I would say a possible suspension would be very much in play." I just want to know what stakes they were playing. NomarFachix
Maybe because he was warned, and did it again?Maybe you should understand what is being discussed before providing empty responses? Reports of this were around, and the MLB was "investigating" on July 1st. It's just becoming news now, in August. Like I said, this happened a while ago, no idea why it's just becoming news now. http://www.hollyscoop.com/alex-rodriguez/alex-rodriquez-involved-in-illegal-gambling-ring.html (July 1st)http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/293670-mlb-investigating-a-rod-poker-reports?xid=cnnbin&hpt=hp_bn10 (July 2nd)
NomarFachix
Now we've got a named poker pro who says that Alex was not at the game. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/6835982/poker-pro-new-york-yankees-alex-rodriguez-not-reported-illegal-game But.. there is an unnamed guy who didn't see him there, but knows a guy did. Right.

It doesn't matter that it's coming out now, but rather he was warned BEFORE the last incident. Just in case you didn't know, 2005 was six years ago, you know, the time when he was first warned. These are all allegations, but I have little reason to believe this pathological liar. Edited August 5, 2011 by EastCoastNiner

I was talking about the amount of time (over a full month) it took for the story to surface and become national news. You quoted and said that A-Rod did it before.. lol. Two completely different topics.

The problem is he was warned, and did it again, allegedly.

EastCoastNiner
You are quite literally too dumb to hold a conversation with. The mentally fragile dumb ass is at it again. I'm just going to go to a casino and play some poker after I was involved in allegations of playing in illegal high stake poker games. . He has to be smarter then this. Even if what he was doing was LEGAL, after the allegations about his illegal games that came to light recently, he needs to stay away from anything associated with gambling. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2011/08/alex-rodriguez-high-stakes-poker-mlb-ny-post/1 Edited August 23, 2011 by EastCoastNiner

I'm not saying that he was in the right. I'm not saying that what he did was right or wrong. I am simply saying that it had happened over a month prior to it becoming news, and that I was surprised it took so long to become news. Reading comprehension FTL. :SMH Smiley: (Period)

And, if you had any reading comprehension, you could probably figure out that I wasn't addressing any of this to you. Reading comprehension showed that you quoted my post directly and then, according to you, spoke of something completely unrelated. That's incompetence on the author's end.
