Sħãlïq™
News: Ronaldinho back to Seleção for Ghana friendly http://ojogobonito.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/ronaldinho_fla.jpg Ronaldinho has been called up for the first time in 9 months as Brazil meet Ghana on September 6. Fábio, Marcelo, Hulk and Leandro Damião are other players that are being called up again, while Victor and Fred were left out at this time. Maicon has also been left out due to an injury. Danilo is being called up for the first time, although he seems to have been picked as a right-back rather than for his favorite position in the midfield. Sħãlïq™
From the info I have seen, Argentina and Brazil using only LOCAL players. But, that suits Brazil much better because most of their squad is local anyway.... For Brazil: Neymar, Ronaldhino, Ganso, Elanoa, Fred etc etc all in the squad apparently. http://news.lalate.com/2011/09/13/argentina-vs-brazil-2011-battle-in-international-friendly/ http://bleacherreport.com/articles/847177-predicting-the-starting-xi-for-argentina-in-their-friendly-against-brazil http://bleacherreport.com/articles/847153-brazil-v-argentina-predicting-the-brazil-starting-xi#/articles/847153-brazil-v-argentina-predicting-the-brazil-starting-xi
Sħãlïq™
More on it: Brazil take on Argentina later today in the first game in the Copa Roca in Cordoba. With both squads limited to ‘home-based’ players, there are some new faces in the Brazil line-up. Coach Mano Menezes hands a debut to Flamengo’s 33-year-old midfielder, Renato Abreu. Corinthians’ defensive midfielders, Ralf and Paulinho, also come in. Vasco’s highly-rated centreback, Dedé, is paired with Atlético Mineiro’s, Réver, at the back. The return game in the ‘Superclássico das Américas’ will be on the 28th of this month in the estádio Mangueirão in Belém, Brazil. Sħãlïq™
Tonight's the 2nd leg of a home and away series. The winner takes home the so-called Cup of "Superclássico das Américas": Brazil and Argentina will play in the northern city of Belem to decide the Superclassic of the Americas, a home-and-away friendly series in which both teams are using players from local clubs. The teams drew 0-0 in Cordoba, Argentina two weeks ago, and Wednesday's winner will take home the trophy. Another draw will prompt a penalty shootout. But the trophy seems secondary to Menezes, who is under pressure after average results since taking charge of the Brazil team following the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.http://www.chron.com/sports/article/Menezes-needs-a-win-in-friendly-against-Argentina-2191372.php Edited September 28, 2011 by Shãłïq
