ChosenOne
The Oakland Raiders selected former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor in the third round of Monday's supplemental draft. Oakland took Pryor with the 18th selection of the round. By selecting Pryor, the Raiders now will not pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. No other players were taken in Monday's supplemental draft. Five other players were eligible to be drafted Monday: former Georgia running back Caleb King, former Northern Illinois safety Tracy Wilson, former Western Carolina cornerback Torez Jones, former Lindenwood University defensive end Keenan Mace, and former North Carolina defensive end Michael McAdoo. Those players now are eligible to sign with any NFL team. Based on the rookie scale used to sign picks from April's draft, Pryor would be expected to get a four-year deal at $2.36 million, including a $591,000 signing bonus. A Raiders source told ESPN.com's John Clayton that the team is looking at Pryor more as receiver than a quarterback at the NFL level. The selection of Pryor means the Raiders will not pick in the second, third or fourth rounds of the 2012 draft. Oakland traded its 2012 second-round pick to New England in a multipick trade that netted it the Patriots' 2011 third- and fourth-round picks and swapped its 2012 four-round pick to Washington in the trade for quarterback Jason Campbell. NomarFachix
I wouldn't have minded the Giants throwing a 4th rounder at him, though it never would have happened.. have him bulk up and become a huge matchup problem at TE
Owner Real Deal Posted August 22, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted August 22, 2011 Next year's draft, we will select Road Runner, a Shelby Cobra, and light.
Owner Real Deal Posted August 22, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted August 22, 2011 By the way, he's 6-6 and runs a 4.38, lol. If Oakland tries to play him at QB (which they are rumored to throw the ball at him, not having him throw it), at least he'll do better than JaMarcus, I have faith in that...but come on. This is a third rounder...and Raider fans keep talking about how it's a good thing because it's the supplemental draft, but this actually kills our third round pick for next season, and to be honest, he's not worth anything lower than a 4th, and even that is pushing it. EastCoastNiner
I have no clue how this will turn out, and the Raiders have a recent history of making terrible decisions. However, as poor of decisions that Al Davis and the Raiders make, at least they go out and spend money to try and build a winning team. I think the actual moves are generally poor, but you have to at least respect that they are willing to spend and try and build a winning team. So, you would rather have your team spend $80 mil instead of $120 mil? I'll take my chances with an owner that spends near the cap limit. It doesn't always pay off, but the chances of forming a winning team are much greater. Also, thanks for Haynesworth, and Andre Carter looks like a monster so far! :glasses: . A true winner is built through good scouting, and putting the right pieces together. I've witnessed first hand what Snyder tried to do every offseason, and the end result wasn't pretty. A sub 4.5? Even if he can't play QB you can plug him in at a variety of different positions to see where he fits best, he would be a monster on the Giants at TE. Finley is 6'5 245 and ran a 4.67, I hope that sheds light on the potential of Terrelle Pryor.
