Built Ford Tough
I don't think it is 100% official, but it sounds like it is a done deal. Rick Adelman is the new head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to two sources. Kevin Love first broke the news on Twitter that the Wolves were closing in on a deal with Adelman. Adelman was most recently head coach of the Rockets. Minnesota's other two primary candidates were Don Nelson and Sam Mitchell. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/215560/Sources_Wolves_Hire_Rick_Adelman#ixzz1Xn2OP84K So Adelman leaves Houston thinking he would be getting the Laker job, but instead he winds up in Minnesota. Seriously though, nice hire for the Wolves. I'm not exactly sure how Adelman will do in a rebuilding situation as he seems to prefer veteran teams and I don't really ever recall him coaching a team that is built around youth, but he is a great coach. If guys like Love, Beasley, Williams and Rubio buy into his system they could be a pretty decent team next season. They won't be a playoff team, but I doubt they finish dead last again. Dr. Feelgood
Awesome hiring by the Wolves. I love Adelman as a coach and Love said he'll likely sign an extension with Minny now.
Dash
Is it any coincidence that Brad Miller is on the Wolves? But seriously this is a GREAT move by Minnesota, they said they were 'done rebuilding', well this is a huge step into moving out of that stage. The team is still young but Rick has proven time and time again that he can develop young players although he isn't afraid to play veterans over youth. Iffy fit for Adelman though, I thought he should have at least waited until next summer and see if any spots were open for a contender. One more thing I'd like point out is that Rick is an excellent judge of talent and will play the right guys and definitely improve the Timberwolves' draft nights.
