I know Gagner is a good player...but, to put it simply, if you'd tell me an NHL player would have an 8 point game, he likely would not be my guess.

You mean it doesn't sound right mentioning Gagner in the same breath as Gretzky, Lemieux, Trottier, Richard and Coffey?

The teams that Nash would waive his NMC for are:

Toronto

Boston

Los Angeles

New York (Rangers, obviously)

Those are the only 4 teams that have been confirmed. There is also speculation that Vancouver and Philly are on that list as well, but no confirmation on that. The list has been said to be very small, so it may only be those 4 teams that are already confirmed.

Also, Pierre LeBrun had some to say on the subject:

- CBJ is looking for at least four quality assets in any deal

- For Toronto, "any deal begins with Gardiner"

- For LA, "any deal begins with Bernier"

- For NYR, "any deal begins with Kreider"

Personally, I think Nash is overrated, especially considering his gigantic cap hit and would be very reluctant to trade for him considering what it would cost. I absolutely love Gardiner and think he is going to be a stud, and since it would be Gardiner and likely 2 or 3 other assets, two of which would be a 1st and one of Kadri/Colborne, I'd rather the Leafs not trade for him.

I just don't think it would be worth it for any team considering how high the asking price would be.

I don't want any part of Nash either if it is going to cost us Gardiner and multiple other pieces. Pretty overrated, I get he is skilled and without a doubt a first line winger, but I just don't think he is worth what the asking price is going to be. I also get that the fact he is still only 27 and has term remaining on his contract makes him more valuable, but that term is also near the top 5 in the league pay-wise, and I don't think going to a different team is going to all of a sudden make him produce at a top 10 player clip.

I would love a Rick Nash on this team, don't get me wrong he is a really good player, but not worth clearing the cupboards for. Would rather just see us make a move for a cheaper Jeff Carter (who is also a hugely better fit), or swing for the homerun on on Ryan Getzlaf (who I would literally tell them take your pick of pieces to get a deal done, but I just don't think we have enough) or Bobby Ryan in the summer.

If we are going to overpay for someone, Derek Roy is someone I would like to see the Leafs make a push for rather than someone like Nash.

Typical Bruin fan whining about Montreal. We are last in the league but still manage to get under the skin. ECN, are you a closet Canadiens fan?

Oh, there you are! You disappeared since October when you were talking about the Bruins and Canadiens place in the standings.......

Honestly though, go ahead and boo Chara, but cheering when he gets hit in the face with a puck is pretty lame. If Bruins fans did the same thing, I'd be saying the same thing. You just don't cheer for an injury.

I haven't gone anywhere. Wasn't it you who got suspended for being a complete cunt?

Broken neck or puck in the face?

Honestly dude just be happy your team won a ring. Post something effective to get discussion rather just blending in with the crowd of morons.

You did go somewhere. You disappeared after you tried to talk up the Habs.

No to mention Chara's hit was a legal check, so terrible comparison between the plays. I guess every time a player delivers a legal check he should get cheered the next time he is hurt.

Anyways, I'm not talking about this anymore.

Montreal lost a man each week after that and were playing AHLers. Not saying they'd be in the playoff race but they aren't far from 8th and are playing god awful.

Like I said, just talk hockey man. I know you hate the Canadiens but please stop putting all fans as "such and such" because that is not smart thinking.

Nash & Carter (and Tyutin too, but who cares?) held out of practice today, probably not going to help the speculation around Nash, who I still doubt is dealt until the summer. Carter is a guy I seriously want the Leafs to make a push for.

It's sounding like Kubina could be moved too.

There are also some rumblings about a Kane for Miller deal between Buffalo and Chicago, which would be absolutely insane. I'd be shocked if that was much more than talk/speculation though, I don't know how you trade a guy like Patty Kane, or Ryan Miller for that matter.

I don't know, just something to chew on I guess. I am hoping a big trade does go down in the coming days so we have something to talk about.

I'm not a fan of Jeff Carter for the Leafs at all. He's not the type of first line center I like, and I like having grabo as our second line center preferably. Carter is not a playmaker, and has really just been ice cold this year. I guess that could mean it would take less to get him, but if we're going to be throwing assets around for a forward, i'd be more interested in a power winger (Nash, Van Riemsdyk, etc).

A Kane for Miller trade would be a HUGE blockbuster. Patty Kane is from Buffalo I believe, so it would be a homecoming for him. I don't think I can see Chicago doing that trade though. Maybe if theres a decent forward prospect coming back their way. It would be pretty crazy if it did end up happening.

Is that lame? Honestly everywhere hockey talk is there are idiots.

Kubina might be the first big named moved. Someone has him going to Rangers.

Jonas Enroth I believe is ready. With Keith and Seabrook will be great for Miller too. I really hope this trade goes through.

Oh I think Jonas is ready too. But like I said, I don't see Chicago trading Patty Kane. He is too young and will be part of the Hawks for years to come with John Toews

Yeah Kane could fetch a lot more than what this offer has. They'd have better luck trading him for a young goalie prospect and get some additional talent as well. Just always neat seeing big trades.

Red Wings set NHL multiple-season record with 23rd straight win at home:

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings are losing track of how many games in a row they've won at home.

Detroit won its 23rd straight at Joe Louis Arena, setting an NHL multiple-season mark for home dominance by holding on to beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 Sunday.

It is an impressive streak, no doubt about it, but it is hard to compare to the past considering both the Bruins and Flyers teams that won 20 straight home games played in different eras. The shootout plays a huge role here, just like other factors played huge roles in the Flyers and Bruins streaks.
