Then let's say, after the playoffs are supposed to be done and over with, the owners and players finally come to an agreement. Do they have an NBA draft? If so, does that make the Irving/Williams draft class sophomores and NOT eligible to win the ROY award despite them not having played a single NBA game? Or do they now have 120 rookies gunning for the ROY award with the Irving/Williams class and the new class? Or do they skip the draft and allow the college players who are seniors to be eligible for the next draft? What would happen? Just something my friend and I thought about and couldn't figure out. The current rookies will remain as such, and the 2012 draft class will be rookies as well.
