Here's a good question...

So let's suppose that the NBA misses the ENTIRE season. Not one single game is played at all. Then let's say, after the playoffs are supposed to be done and over with, the owners and players finally come to an agreement. Do they have an NBA draft? If so, does that make the Irving/Williams draft class sophomores and NOT eligible to win the ROY award despite them not having played a single NBA game? Or do they now have 120 rookies gunning for the ROY award with the Irving/Williams class and the new class? Or do they skip the draft and allow the college players who are seniors to be eligible for the next draft? What would happen?

Just something my friend and I thought about and couldn't figure out.

Yes.

Nope. The current rookies will remain as such, and the 2012 draft class will be rookies as well.

Nope. The NBA can't skip the draft, and if they could, they wouldn't choose to. The seniors would have a full year with nothing going on, which could be a big problem for many of them (some don't have the money to go overseas, some are financially in trouble to begin with, etc).
