Owner Real Deal Posted September 23, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted September 23, 2011 I realized how bad my fingers look, after all the basketball I've played over time. How many times do you jam your fingers? Or...do you ever? I know a couple of athletes who say they have never had a jammed finger playing a sport, which is insane. On my dominant hand, you can see redness around all of my knuckles, and my index finger knuckle isn't even aligned correctly anymore, haha. Plus, check out my pinkie finger...could be hard to see, but there's a gap in my major pinkie knuckle, from where I dislocated my finger (IT'S KOBE TIME). http://i55.tinypic.com/2w3xq2g.jpg
GamerGuy
Dude, you don't even know. My thumbs and pinkies are screwed up on both hands, and I'm pretty sure I broke my pinky finger on my left hand. My middle finger on my left hand is tweaked a bit as well. All from basketball...but despite that, they don't look too irregular. Out of all the possible injuries I could get from playing ball, it's always my fingers. Hardly ever twist my ankles, never hurt my knees. Always the damn fingers.
Blazed49
Yeah I'm usually pretty good about not jamming my fingers luckily. The only time its happened bad was when simba threw a laser and I tried one handing it and it hit the tip of my pinky thus dislocating it. The tip of it was like sideways. Had to tape it up and keep goin. I haven't been able to straighten all the way out since. Haha. Oh well.
Dr. Feelgood
It rarely happens for me but it does. And when it does, I always seem to jam it really good to it hurts for a good 2-3 days after playing ball. For me, it's always my knees that are sore as hell after I'm done playing for 3-4 hours. I've jammed every finger on my hand multiple times, outside my thumbs. I've done it so many times that when I put my hand out you can see curves. They aren't straight like normal fingers. Strangely enough I've never broken or dislocated a finger despite playing so much throughout the years, I guess drinking all that milk as a youth really payed off. Lol. I was strictly there for defensive purposes after that happened. You know that was pretty much the turning point of my jump shot and when I started goin downhill. Thanks a lot. Lol. The middle of my fingers are extremely wide because of my fingers being jammed. I never broke a finger either.
NomarFachix
I jammed my one finger so bad years ago that it never really healed.. to this day, if I tap that knuckle on anything even very slightly, it sends a shooting pain into my elbow and up into my shoulder. lol. Universe
Never jammed it but got my finger stuck in a helmet during football and did the reverse of jamming. Just delightful.
