Phightins
The Cardinals have a BABIP closing in on .600 for this game. Seriously.
Cobb
Why is Lee still out there?
Phightins
Why is Lee still out there? Because he hasn't pitched poorly. He is getting absolutely raped by these chicken shit bloops. The options in the bullpen, outside of Madson, are not good.
Lkr
I don't think I would have ever imagined Cliff Lee not being in position for a win with a 4-0 lead :o
Phightins
Seriously, the Cardinals have put 19 balls in play and 11 have fallen in for hits. Arguably 2 of them were "well struck". Nothing else Lee could have done.

Nothing else Lee could have done.he had 10 Ks too. I'm not trying to blame him, I'm just saying I'm shocked that Philly is losing to be honest
fish7718
I've seen the BABIP stat mentioned a bit too much on this forum haha, baseball is baseball...
Phightins
That was a very un-Lidge appearance. And I mean that in a great way.
Cobb
Gotta wonder what would have happened if Lidge had started the inning...
Phightins
I've seen the BABIP stat mentioned a bit too much on this forum haha, baseball is baseball... And, within baseball, there is a great deal of luck involved. BABIP shows that.
Phightins
My main point with the BABIP is that Lee was very, very good tonight and despite the run/hit total, he deserves none of the blame if the Phillies lose.
Phightins
As Cliff Lee would say, "whatever". Get 'em in St. Louis.
fish7718
Maybe going with Carp on short rest and holding back Garcia wasn't so bright after all, eh Tony?
Phightins
Yeah, his 3 innings of getting rocked sure was the reason they won, you're right.
fish7718
Yeah, his 3 innings of getting rocked sure was the reason they won, you're right.might have got rocked tomorrow night when they need Jackson! and now Carp can go game 5 if they need it! Phightins
might have got rocked tomorrow night when they need Jackson! and now Carp can go game 5 if they need it! Jaime Garcia would have been on regular rest tonight (not to mention he's a way tougher matchup on the Phillies than Carp). Carp would have been on 5 days rest for game 3. Don't get why there was such a rush to get Carp into the series. La Russa being La Russa. His players bailed him out tonight for sure. 420mayne
The Cardinals showed a lot of heart in last nights game. I think they take the series with a best out of three with two at home. Pujols is the man
Phightins
Massive game in an hour and a half. Wish I was more confident, but Jaime Garcia is precisely the kind of pitcher that owns the Phillies regularly (talented, soft throwing lefty). At least JMJ will be in the lineup. Phightins
Here is to hoping the Phillies are slightly more patient against Edwin Jackson than they were against Jaime Garcia.

Phightins
Well, it should be exciting. But I'd have preferred if they won tonight since I also have NLCS game 1 tickets .
