fish7718
Damn Valverde just reared back and hit a-rod with ole stanky gas face and threw it by him! LOVE A GOOD FASTBALL!!!! Great series! Is it possible Philly goes down tomorrow? Oh man then we'd have a nice little set of championship series set up.

fish7718
The run CC Sabathia allowed ended up being the difference.Hughes came out too soon and Sabathia in at the wrong time, really don't like how Giradi managed the game...seemed like he was rushing the ball the CC on 3 days rest... NomarFachix
The run CC Sabathia allowed ended up being the difference.I think A-Rod holding at third on Posada's single stands out a little more, but it just wasn't meant to be.
NomarFachix
Oh well, it was a good season. We weren't expected to make much noise, and plenty had the Sox winning the division and the Rays the wild card.. but we somehow ended up with the division the most wins in the AL. Jeter and Posada both looked really old for stretches while playing regularly, A-Rod was hurt 3/4 of the season and through the playoffs, Mark Teixeira continued his stark decline.. but a lot of players battled. Great years for Cano and Granderson, Robertson with an all-time season, and Rivera holding strong. Huge low risk, high reward signings in Luis Ayala, Corey Wade, Freddy Garcia, Bartolo Colon, Eric Chavez, et al. Looking forward to the offseason and what changes it'll bring, and I'm sure I'll have my wishlist up in the near future. Great series by Detroit, wishing them luck in the next round. NomarFachix
I actually like A-Rod too. He just can't step his game up when it matters most. This isn't exactly true, but he's most certainly aging poorly.
EastCoastNiner
This isn't exactly true, but he's most certainly aging poorly. I used to think he didn't perform in the post-season as poorly as people say, but I just can't say that anymore. Speaking of aging....Albert Pujols is miles ahead of A-Rod in my book now, but maybe that's stating the obvious.

He also sports a .900 OPS career in the playoffs. This year, though.. horrible. Hurt/Old/Declining. Bad.

NomarFachix
27 mil for 5 more years g'luck Yeah.. hoping for an early retirement. Or a fountain of youth. Or a couple healthy seasons. #2 being the most likely of the three.
420mayne
Good series, but my Tigers showed that they were truly the superior ball club. A team with true Heart, Integrity, and teamwork will beat a bunch of hired mercenaries anyday. I am sad that the Tigers couldn't beat the Rangers in game 1, but owning the complete shit out of the yankees has satisfied my playoff hunger.
