Problems connecting to XBL

For some reason after I got red rings two months ago I can't connect to XBL. I went on vacation and I haven't turned my XBOX on since I left. Everything works fine other than the XBL connection. Any suggestions? This is my last stop before I call customer service which is something I really don't want to do.

Wow, I've literally tried everything and it won't connect in my house. I'm tempted to bring the Xbox to a friends house and see if it works there. If that doesn't work ethier, I'm just going to tell them to bring me a new one.

Do you have the XBOX plugged in? The XBOX needs to be plugged in in order for it to work.

No really though, obviously your internet is working since you're able to post...I haven't read the entire topic but what kind of adapter are you using (I'm at work and I'm multitasking)?

I recommend getting these.

It's what I've been using and it's pretty awesome. The main router is in my mom's room and I'm able to connect on XBOX Live in my room and in the living room. They never fail at all (at least it hasn't for me and I've had them for 2 years). I got mine pretty cheap when they were on sale but it's worth the money. I'm not quite sure what your problem is.

When you test the connection, what part of it is failing the test?

It has always worked perfectly fine until now. I'm guessing because of red rings.

When I test the connection it says that I don't have the cord plugged in.

My friend has this problem with his xbox, it wouldnt work from the ethernet but he could connect on the wireless. If you have a wireless connection at home perhaps you should just try that.
