The Denver Broncos have confirmed Tim Tebow will be their starting quarterback after the bye week in a game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Broncos (1-4) say they will have two practices for him this week as the starter before taking the bye and will install training-camp like practices to facilitate the change in starting quarterbacks.

They should have waited a bit longer to start Tebow. What if his performances are terrible, and the team loses 2 or 3 more games? Where do you go from there?

Orton should have been the starter until at least the halfway point, because he gives them a better chance to win. If they're 1-7 or 2-6 at the halfway mark, then I agree Tebow should be put in to see what he offers the franchise and if they should draft a quarterback this year or not. But you cant make a decision like that this early in the season. Carolina did it last year after 2 games, replacing Matt Moore with Jimmy Clausen, and after 2 games, Moore was back into the starting lineup. If Tebow isn't the guy, then what?

Problem is, Jimmy Clausen isn't Tim Tebow, and Matt Moore (and the Panthers) weren't going to win any games to begin with, because the entire team was going to struggle all season long, no matter who was under center.

Tebow gives the Broncos a better chance to win. Orton is an average QB, always has been, and Denver needs above average. They need someone that can actually get out of the pocket and make plays, instead of throwing into coverage all the time. This is his third season in Denver, and it's pretty obvious that Orton isn't going to be their guy.

If it's not Orton, it's Tebow or Quinn, and quite frankly, I never understood why Quinn was considered the second string.

The fact that Tebow will probably have a good amount of Florida fans behind him likely factored into the decision.

After training camp, no one would have expected a quarterback change five games into the season. But Orton's struggles have only been getting worse, and if there appears to be a sudden positive change in the offense with Tebow running it, then why not make the change when you're at 1-4? I don't expect the decision to receive much criticism unless people either expect too much of him or are overly critical of him.
