Sħãlïq™
Would Blake's season have been better with a different coaching staff? I 've been wondering here if Blake's stats and gameplay would have been better or worse under a different coaching staff last year. Would other coaches have showcased him even more? Would he have developed a different style of game, say if a different coach had said "don't do so many dunks, that's what mes*ed up your knee in the first season!". Who else would you have liked blake to be coached by instead, and why, and what would the differences been in blake's stats and game? give me and this blog your dream scenario of a "different coached" blake last year. or better yet, tell me how some of the other established coaches in the league would have used blake if he was on their team. we got some dream time now, so how about it? Owner Real Deal Posted October 14, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted October 14, 2011 Nah, I don't think it would be any different at all. With a superstar like Blake, you get what he gives you. Then, later on, you focus 100% on developing the rest of his game. Right now, Blake is going to run the open court like a deer, no matter who is coaching him, because that's what teams can't stop. Get him the ball on the break, and he's at the same level as LeBron James. He'll continue to develop his mid-range game, add more post moves, etc...but he's too young for a coach to come in and completely change what he is "born" to do out there. -------- As far as playing through him more, I don't know. They can't ignore Eric Gordon, and while Blake is a threat in the post, he's not Shaq, so he's going to need all the help he can get to force the defense to spread out a bit. Sħãlïq™
Hmm.... Del Negro is about as great as it gets for a young superstar. He dumped the ball to Blake nonstop in games, drew up last second plays for him and let him play through all his mistakes. Del Negro is known around the league as a great developer of young talent.
