President Obama announced the complete withdrawal of all remaining troops from Iraq by the end of 2011.

"As a candidate for president I pledged to bring the war in Iraq to an end," the president said Friday, speaking from the White House.

"Today I can report that, as promised, the rest of our troops will come home by the end of the year. After nearly nine years, America's war in Iraq will be over."

Pledging that troops stationed in Iraq will "definitely be home for the holidays," the president praised the more than one million men and women who have fought in Iraq since war was declared there in 2003.

"The last American soldiers will cross the border out of Iraq with their heads held high...that is how American military efforts in Iraq will end," the president said.

He also noted that the end of the war in Iraq would reflect a transition in America's military priorities. "The tide of war is receding," he said. The drawdown of 100,000 troops from Iraq since Obama took office freed the armed forces to focus on the war in Afghanistan and the fight against al-Qaeda, he said, with results that have been seen in recent months, including the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Obama's remarks came after a morning call with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

In a September 2008 televised presidential debate Obama stated he would have all troops out in 15 months...............

Obama also stated that George Bush's plan would take too long.

So Obama lied and used Bush's plan for withdrawal and claims success.

What a liar!

Anybody can say what they want but if this holds true Obama is setting himself up real well for another four years in office.

Passing Healthcare

Killing Osama

Bringing back our troops

Hes done well.

He's got no shot. Voters don't care about that aside from maybe the troops. The country doesn't want Obama care and they're more worried about the economy than anything. When the GOP gets its candidate and the debates begin, that's when you'll see how little of a chance he has. Romney, Cain or Gingrich will annihilate him in any debate.

lol no one wants Cain and Gingrich has no shot at getting the nomination. the only legitimate GOP candidate is Romney. No one wants health care either, our current system is PERFECT ;)

Cain brings more to the table than O ever did in terms of being an unkown. Gingrich isn't the big name in the race but in terms of substance he'd destroy Obama in a debate. It'll end up being Romney either way and those debate's will be fun to watch.

Maybe more to the dinner table. Hardy har harrrr.

Cain should probably put an electric fence around his 999 tax idea, so he doesn't continue revisiting it.

Gingrich isn't the big name in the race but in terms of substance he'd destroy Obama in a debate.

Yeah, he'd probably destroy Obama in a debate among a crowd that laughs at letting people die if they can't afford their own healthcare.

Newt isn't the big name in the race? Sadly, he was supposed to be, but he's just looking more and more like Trump as things progress...the clown of the group.

Are you kidding? Watching a little to much Fox News lately?

The facts are this: Yes, a lot of the country are disappointed in the economy, and yes, many people still don't like Obama's Health Care. However, the Republicans have no charismatic candidate...it will be a close election, but to think that Obama has no chance in getting re-elected couldn't be further from the truth and your political posts from now on should be disregarded.

Lol...Yeah, Romney is the only solid Republican candidate that isn't just a flat out idiot (Gingrich) or a clown (Cain)...

LOL...Cain and Gingrich are absolute jokes.

In fact, you can almost take that statement literally.

Lol.

Substance? Gingrich has been in politics a long time buddy. He's disliked by many moderates and independents. And Cain won't get the black vote because of his political views, so there's no way he will beat Obama. Virtually no black people like him
