This should have been the union's initial move once the owners made their original ridiculous proposal.

 

If you're going to lose a season, might as well put pressure on the owners with an anti-trust lawsuit over their heads.

Supposedly Pierce was leading the charge, which doesn't surprise me in the least. The thing that does surprise me is that there was no mention of Garnett. I thought him and Pierce would've been the two most vocal about this.

 

Approximately 50 players participated in at least one conference call with an anti-trust attorney this week, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

 

Sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein that the most vocal "star" player was Paul Pierce.

 

Grant Hill, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen, Dwight Howard, James Posey and J.J. Redick participated as well.

 

Adrian Wojnarowski reports Jason Kidd, Blake Griffin, Tyson Chandler, Al Horford, Spencer Hawes and DeAndre Jordan also participated in the call.

Too late for this now. By the time it is voted on and everything gets settled in court, the players will have lost more money from these cancelled games than if they simply accept the current offer from the owners with the 50/50 split.
