The Goods
As a restricted free agent, C.J. Watson's patience has been tested this offseason. "Everything is up in the air right now," Watson's agent, Derrick Powell, told RealGM's Alex Kennedy on Tuesday. "We're just waiting now and things are taking longer than usual for restricted free agents. Everyone is waiting for the unrestricted free agents to sign but the teams pursuing unrestricted players aren't doing anything either." Watson, who rejected a one year, $2.3 million offer sheet from Philadelphia earlier this summer, is looking for a multi-year deal and an increase in playing time. Philadelphia, New York, Orlando and three other unnamed teams have been in talks with Watson's camp, according to Powell. While Orlando can't offer anything more than a minimum contract, sign-and-trade talks are ongoing. "Otis [smith] has been in constant contact with Golden State and it's definitely still a possibility," says Powell. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60973/20090804/cj_watson_still_waiting_for_offer/
OldChili
I'm not sure what we would give up to get him.
Sun Tzu
Well he is a FA and don't the Magic still have half of a league exception left?
AtTheDriveIn
Well he is a FA and don't the Magic still have half of a league exception left? Nope. We just have the minimum to offer now. Spent our money on Bass and Barnes.
