The Goods
The Suns were able to come to a buyout agreement with center Ben Wallace soon after acquiring him in the deal that sent center Shaquille ONeal to Cleveland. But small forward Sasha Pavlovic, also acquired from the Cavs, has not yet been bought out and is still on the Suns' roster. So what gives? "This one is a little trickier than most buyout situations," Pavlovic's agent, Marc Cornstein, told Sporting News. "There are two parts to it. First, for us, its pursuing a deal. Then, for the Suns, it's making him a free agent, and the two aspects are tied together." The Suns intend to waive Pavolvic before the season, and if they do, they will be responsible for only $1.5 million of the nearly $5 million left on his deal. The team has essentially told Cornstein that he can treat Pavlovic as a free agent and seek a deal with another team. But the Suns want to hang onto Pavlovic's rights so that, when Pavlovic finds a free-agent offer, the team will have the right to look into a sign-and-trade that could better the roster. Cornstein said he is dealing right now with three or four teams whose interest he categorizes as serious, and a deal could come this week. He said that leaving the NBA to pursue a contract in Europe would not be an option for Pavlovic. http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/The_Baseline/entry/view/29221/knicks_offer_likely_to_push_sessions_out_of_milwaukee
Cleveland's Finest
As long as he's not coming back to Cleveland I'm fine. He was a huge let down after our finals run and hasn't been the same.
