The Goods
Brandon Roy and the Trail Blazers are getting close to an agreement on a long-term contract extension, The Oregonian has learned. Bob Myers, who represents Roy, said on Tuesday that the negotiations have taken a decided turn for the better this week. "We've had very productive discussions recently and are optimistic we will reach a deal soon," Myers said. Roy is asking for the maximum monetary figure, which would be about $82 million for a five-year extension. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60976/20090805/roy_close_to_agreement_on_extension/

Dr. Feelgood
Not surprised. 16.5 mil a year...getting paid. But it'll be worth it. It's good to have Paul Allen as the owner.

It's a lot but worth it like you said. Plus he plays through injuries a ton and still plays at a high clip. Is an Aldridge extension coming? Dr. Feelgood
Oh, definitely. I read on ESPN as soon as they get Roy figured out, LMA is gonna be targeted next.
Check my Stats
I wonder what kind of money LMA gets then. And yeah I heard the Blazers were gonna wait till next year since the cap goes down so will the max contracts. Good to see they are treating the franchise player right and allowing him to get as much money as possible, it's not like the team or owner is hurting for money anyways. Dr. Feelgood
Yeah, seeing as Portland's owner is the richest in the NBA (like 35th in the world or something like that). So I expect LMA to get paid just a tad bit less than Roy, if not the exact same amount.
