Dash
The Sacramento Kings have emerged as a frontrunner to sign Rockets free-agent forward Chuck Hayes(notes), league sources said. Sacramento had wanted to sign Hayes to a lucrative one-year deal to keep cap space for the summer of 2012, but could come back with the kind of multiyear offer now needed to acquire him. For Hayes, a native of nearby Modesto in Northern California, it would be a unique chance to return home. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AvuYjw9fujo1by4xns_8ly45nYcB?rhsts&slug=aw-wojnarowski_nba_free_agent_buzz_120311 Well there goes our starting center... Dash
sam_amick Sam AmickAlso on Kings front, sources confirm @WojYahooNBA report that serious mutual interest between them and unrestricted free agent F Chuck Hayes If we lose Chuck and strike out in free agency we would have no center...can Morey get a legitimate starting center through a trade? Owner Real Deal Posted December 5, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 Wouldn't be that bad of a situation for him. He would get minutes behind both Cousins and Hickson, especially the way Cousins plays, and Sacramento would pay him whatever to bring him on board. They need to start winning games, and playing defense will be the key. Hayes isn't Chandler, but with a team that has very limited help on defense (VERY LIMITED, as in...none, because Sammy is gone)...he'll see playing time, and he'll be a significant piece to their playoff run (hahahahaha).
