If Lakers aren't moving Bynum and Pau goes to Houston, aren't the Rockets giving up all the pieces required for New Orleans to move Paul?

Makes me wonder what the hell Houston would trade to the Hornets. I'm not really sure.

Names talked about in CP3 3-way are: CP to Lakers, Gasol to HOU & Kevin Martin & Luis Scola and possible picks to Hornets, source tells Y!

Makes you wonder what free agent Houston has locked up.

Hou has what New Orl wants in trade 4 CP: established players (Scola, KMart), youth (Budinger, Patterson), 1st-rnd picks (Own, NYK'12)..

Then why the [expletive] aren't WE getting Paul? Horrible deal for Houston.

When you think about it, it makes sense why Houston would take Gasol instead of gambling on Paul. Paul could very easily walk after this season if N.O traded him to Houston, if N.O doesn't do a sign and trade, and Houston probably wants some sort of guarantee that they'll have someone after this season ends. This might be Paul's way of forcing himself to L.A while N.O get what they want (youth, draft picks).

Sources confirm the players who'd go to NOR in Lakers-Houston-Hornets 3-way that would land CP3 with LAL are Luis Scola and Kevin Martin.

Ugh.

Houston is willing to take on Paul without an extension. Regardless this is too much value for Pau Gasol, awful trade.

Wouldn't you guys rather have a few seasons to build something around Gasol, instead of Paul being one-and-done?

We're giving up all our talent just for an upgrade at PF. A duo of Kyle Lowry/Pau Gasol won't get us very far out West.

And yes I'd rather give Chris Paul a shot, Houston would have the cap space to go after Dwight in 2012.

At first I really wasn't feeling this deal but know that I think about it really wouldn't be that bad. The Rockets get a star that they have been looking for in Pau Gasol and after hearing that we could possibly get Nene or his brother Marc it may actually work out for all 3 teams. Houston gets their star player and big man, LA gets the PG they have been looking for in CP3 and keeps Bynum, and the Hornets get nice peices to build around with K-Mart and Scola, other young talent and picks. I just hope the Rockets get more in return than just Gasol in this deal.
