I was like "stop lyin I ain't that gullible gtfo" I can't believe this is true. LMAO the NBA has to be the poorest run of the 5 major sport organizations in the US. Absolutely horrible. Paul should be a Warrior or Clipper, not a Laker... this deal is horrible. If the team is owned by the league, how is it is unjust for the league to step in? Lol... The Hornets are no more valuable without Chris Paul than an unhappy Chris Paul already declaring he won't return. That argument would hold more water if Stern nixed the deal right away. Did he not think it would actually happen? He waited until the deal was agreed upon before saying "NO" when he could have said "NO" from the get-go. So now, essentially you have an entire league saying, "you can't trade Paul to anyone EXCEPT the Lakers". I haven't seen the new CBA but I'm pretty sure that's illegal. In fact, several teams negotiating with New Orleans to get Paul asked the league office, and were told Demps had full authority to execute a trade. Now obviously this has taken a turn for the worse, it's most definitely ruined the image of the league, but the idea that he and the majority of the owners advocate parity plays a large role. And correct me if I'm wrong, but this is all within Stern's authority as commissioner to block a trade, all owners agree to these authorities when buying a team. It is actually hilarious to see how completely and utterly dysfunctional this league is. I can understand the whole owner vetoing a trade because it has happened (such as Jordan vetoing the Calderon/Chandler trade last summer after it was agreed on by both GM's) but to say that Demps has full authority to make a trade and then turn around and say "On second though, scratch that. You can't make this trade" is just brutal. It makes the league look completely bush league. Just a complete disaster. Anybody with any common sense saw this situation coming the minute the league purchased the Hornets. It is a huge conflict of interest having the Hornets owned by the league.
