Now appears Lakers will keep Devin Ebanks, and that additional young talent to New Orleans will be coming from the Rockets, sources confirm.

The [expletive] is this shit?

I thought Darryl Morey was some sort of super genius?

The guy is trading basically all of his assets for Pau Gasol and the chance at signing Nene to a $70M deal?

Good luck ever being successful in the playoffs with a Gasol/Nene frontcourt while having to go through a Kobe/Paul backcourt, a backcourt which you would be directly responsible for building.

This is seriously like something you would see in a movie. That is how utterly unbelievable this whole situation is.

The New Orleans Hornets have delivered a reconstructed framework of the three-team blockbuster trade sending Chris Paul trade to the Los Angeles Lakers into the NBA office for approval, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

In the latest details available to Yahoo! Sports, sources say that New Orleans would send the Lakers Paul, and possibly two Hornets free agents – center Jason Smith and Marcus Banks – would be sent to the Lakers in sign-and-trade agreements.

The Rockets would send Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, a 2012 first-round pick and possibly young players or additional picks to the Hornets.

The Lakers would send Lamar Odom to the Hornets, Pau Gasol to the Rockets and league sources say that Los Angeles was pursuing a first-round pick to send to the Hornets.

It is going to be absolutely hilarious when Stern allows this trade.

Adding two end of the bench scrubs, a late, late 1st and a mediocore prospect (I'm guessing Jordan Hill) to the original trade will make Stern suddenly change his mind? It is going to be awesome.

I mean, the Rockets can't possibly be stupid enough to trade somebody like Patterson or Lowry in this trade, can they?

The Lakers, in their attempts to get young talent to send to New Orleans so the NBA will approve their acquisition of Chris Paul, came knocking at the Warriors door. Dangling Gasol. In return, they wanted “the entire team” one source said. The package the Lakers wanted was centered around point guard Stephen Curry (not sure who else, but I’m guessing Ekpe Udoh, Klay Thompson and maybe even Dorell Wright based on how laughable the source viewed the Lakers’ offer). Curry, presumably, would wind up with the Hornets.

The Warriors aren’t interested. At all.

does Stern see the problems he's created now?

Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher the Lakers, Rockets and Hornets have attempted to pull in a fourth team to create a revised deal that would satisfy the league office. Minnesota, Cleveland and Boston are all teams that were interested in joining the deal, with Boston being the most aggressive.

What would Boston be after?

Obvioulsy they love Paul, but he is clearly going to LA .

I'm sure they'd be interested in Gasol, but why does Houston get involved if they aren't getting Gasol?

New Orleans has little that would interest Boston, I imagine. Maybe Okafor? Aren't the Hornets really keen on getting Odom, so that would eliminate him as well.

It would be very interested to see what pieces would go where if Boston does in fact get involved.

At this point, it is obvious that Paul will end up in LA and Howard will end up in either LA or New Jersey/Brooklyn. That, combined with Miami and New York really makes the league a 4 or 5 team race, which sucks for me since I'm a fan of parity, but honestly, I just want to see some huge trade that features legitimate stars like Gasol, Paul and Rondo as well as great complimentary pieces like Scola, Odom, Martin all switching places.

It would be just such an epic trade, esepcially factoring in all of the shit that happened the other night.

Besides, its not like Toronto is ever going to win a damn thing in this league, so I might as well just hope for some absolute crazy shit happening, and this would fit that perfectly.

interesting to see what we do with the trade exception, i think we may be going after dwight

anyways, the nba [expletive]ed us over but im not too mad. i didnt like the chris paul trade ever since i heard about his knees, which is similar to brandon roys. if anything this trade rejection will save us in the future.

Oh damn, that's HUGE news. This definitely makes me believe the Lakers are getting Howard.

Why trade Odom to the rival team (and trade him to begin with) for a trade exception? LA knows exactly what the Magic are asking for Dwight, and they have it with two big trade exceptions and Andrew Bynum.
