Dash
ChrisMannixSI Chris MannixUnclear if they will put in a claim, but Clippers an interesting possibility for soon to be waived Billups. Would fit in well.
Warren2ThaG
Clippers looking even better if they get him, they have nice pieces already.
Sħãlïq™
I've Always Liked Billups. He Is A Clear Threat On The 3 Point Line. Thats Something The Clippers Are Lacking In A Way. You Can't Get The Leadership He Has Anywhere Else.... I Would Want To Keep Him, Not Sign+Trade Him. He Has Just Enough In The Tank To Impact The Team For The Better Long Run.Also, what if the Clips talked to all the teams that are interested in Billups and worked a deal where we pick him up and sign + trade him? Like the Celtics need a big man with the loss of Perkins. I'm sure they could use Chris Kaman in their final run with Pierce, Allen, and Garnett. They'll likely blow it up after this season so why not move Rajon Rondo for a package that includes Chauncey Billups (veteran PG), Mo Williams, and Chris Kaman. And we can throw in a pick to sweeten the deal a little. We'd be rocking this lineup: PG: Rajon Rondo, Eric Bledsoe, Willie Warren SG: Eric Gordon, Randy Foye SF: Caron Butler, Al Farouq Aminu PF: Blake Griffin, Trey Tompkins C: DeAndre Jordan, Edited December 10, 2011 by Šhãłïq

Flash
Makes no sense if you already have Mo Williams and your PG of the future in Bledsoe.
Sħãlïq™
On 2nd thought, I don't want Rondo on this team... He's a big talent, but has bad attitude and is immature. I don't see off court chemistry, even though the technical skills would seem perfect for BG... I would love to say yes, trust me.
fish7718
Chuancey Billups probably wont even want to play for Clippers much less be apart of an offer that Celtics would never accept that would have him playing another year past this year on another team he doesn't want to play for. Sħãlïq™
Hmmmm, Chauncey would retire if he came to the Clippers via some sort of trade deal. On top of this, I am fairly certain that if he gets picked up somewhere and decides NOT to retire... that team cannot trade him for X amount of time anyways. And as stated before we have Mo Williams, Bledsoe and even Foye who can play PG. Gordon also can play spot PG if need be. Chauncey causes a log jam. Correct. As far as I know, picking up a player who had been amnesty cut has the same restrictions as trading a newly signed free agent. In a normal season, that means you can't trade him until December 15th, which is about 6 weeks from the start of the season. Not sure how they are going to compensate for the shortened season, but I know that there is a similar restriction.

If a team picks up a player using the amnesty clause, that player must stay with the team for the remainder of the season. So no team would be able to pick up a player off of the "amnesty auction" with the intentions of trading him that season.
