AboveLegit
Late Friday night, reports out of New York indicated that the Knicks were finalizing a deal to send power forward Ronny Turiaf to the Washington Wizards. The Knicks need to ship out Turiaf in order to clear room to get under the cap and make the Tyson Chandler signing official. The Knicks, in another cap saving move, also waived Chauncey Billups via the amnesty clause on Friday It does not appear the Knicks would receive anything in return and will likely have to give the Wizards cash to pay for part of his pact. The new CBA states a team can add a total of $3 million in trades in a full year.http://dc.sbnation.com/washington-wizards/2011/12/9/2625204/nba-trade-rumors-knicks-ronny-turiaf-wizards/in/2364217 Love it. EDIT: Now I'm seeing on Twitter that we may be giving up a future 2nd rounder in the deal.
?QuestionMark?
I think teams HAVE to give something in return in trades. Even if it's a BS right to swap picks...or a protected top 55 pick. Either way, chances are high Turiaf is better than any potential 2nd rounder. Great get for the Wiz.
