Billups does not want teams to bid on him

Like I said before, I fully expect Barea to be overrated after his performance in the Finals, it happened with role players before. And I've also said this before, in Dantoni's offense, you need a good passer, Barea is not one. It's fine if they sign him, but starting him would be risky.

He's better than Douglas. Especially in this offense. Douglas is a solid defensive player (definitely not great, I think he's overrated defensively at tmes) but Douglas is such a streak offensive player and he can't pass either. Barea has proven experience, better offensive player, and definitely fits the Knick system better than TD23 IMO

Agreed, he is an upgrade over Toney, that's one way to look at it. But that shouldn't be the reason you stay content with him as the starter.

I suppose. But, he is the best option right now. CP3, D-Williams, and all the other great PG's that would complete the "big three" trio are all unavailable and will be unavailable to the Knicks. Barea is our next best opton.

Don't even get me started on the Mike Bibby signing, either.

“I think they are probably a couple of pieces short, but I won’t say what they are,” Billups said Saturday by phone.

I do believe they undervalued what I brought to the table.”

“From the first day I got there, it was always about who was going to be the next point guard, without giving me a real chance. I don’t think the Knicks valued what else they got in the deal.”

“...once I got hurt, it’s like they forgot all about the impact I did have on that team.”

“I would like a chance at them, I’ll tell you that much. I would absolutely love that.”

All per Ian O'Connor

Nobody did this.

One was in 2004, one was in 2011.

One put up 17 and 5 last year while the other couldn't even start over a 40 plus year old pg

Billups is like wine my friend, only gets better with age.

He been playing the same way since 2004

This may be true, but there still wasn't a guy comparing Billups and Barea.. so the compare/contrast is off.
