Guru
MOSCOW -- After a week of surprising challenges to his authority, Vladimir Putin faces a new one from one of Russia's richest and most glamorous figures: The billionaire owner of the New Jersey Nets says he will run against him in March's presidential election. "Congratulations to Mikhail," Nets coach Avery Johnson said, "but it still has no bearing on ownership and what's gonna be happening with us. He's still a terrific owner, and we're gonna be excited to see him when the season starts. There's no drop off in what we're gonna be doing with the Nets. "But if we could vote, he'd have a lot of votes here in this building. Johnson wouldn't be shocked if Prokhorov won the presidency. "He's pretty smart," Johnson said. He's got great leadership skills when you're behind the scenes and you're talking to him you know he's a special person. It wouldn't surprise me." Point guard Deron Williams was surprised to hear the news, but was very supportive of Prokhorov. "He's a man of many talents, more power to him," Williams said. I'm sure he can do it, and I wish him the best of luck in doing it." http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/7344425/nets-mikhail-prokhorov-run-russian-presidency
