NomarFachix
Shawne Williams is headed to the Nets Thursday after rejecting an opportunity to re-sign with the Knicks, The Daily News has learned. Williams wanted to return to New York after reviving his career last season under Mike D'Antoni and Donnie Walsh. Williams was also popular in the locker room and became best friends with Amar'e Stoudemire. But the best the Knicks could do was a one-year deal for the the veteran minimum. New Jersey was willing to offer more for the player who can play either forward positions and is a reliable 3-point shooter. http://t.co/6uJt8YhW

JYD
Guess he was really pissed that we made him wait while we chased Crawford, or he really wants a starting position:Whatever. He's not even that good anyway, he just fits in with NYK nicely because we have no one that can actually play any defense or shoot the three ball. About the only two things he's capable of doing. Remember when he missed that layup against Philly last season at the end of teh game? Lol

JYD
Yeah and he pretty much did nothing in the playoffs with a lot of opportunity. Nets can have him. He's only useful when he fits in, and if the Nets had Howard/DW, he'd be a nice fit to go along with them. With no Howard or a good team, he's useless. Guru
Lol, I would be defending our new pickup here but I never liked him or how he plays. Maybe he will change my mind

Maybe he will change my mind He's good at what he does, no doubt. Solid defensively, not intimidating or lockdown though, and he can shoot the three (corner three especially) outside of that, he adds pretty much nothing lol
NomarFachix
He's a thug too, there are some positive points there somewhere
Newman
Apparently the Nets signed Ime Udoka as well so I guess they are trying to find the right SF.
Guru
Avery doesn't do well with "thugs". Example; Terrence Williams.
fish7718
lol sour grapes much? I like Shawne, I'll root for him in NJ. One of the few Memphis guys I got to see play in NY. Disappointing we couldn't get him though...
Teletopez
Funny thing is we had him for about a day in the Humphries deal before waiving him. I like what he has to offer. He has a limited game, but as Kyle says, he does what he can well. Nice long-range shot, solid defense. Looking forward to seeing him and Ammo get plenty of open looks with Deron on the team for a full year. If we get Dwight, their role expands even more.
