Cleveland's Finest
I don't get why Portland didn't hack Jordan and send him to the line down the stretch....Crawford looked great for them.
Built Ford Tough
Watching the game on LP right now and just finished the first half. Man, that was an ugly, sloppy half of basketball with a handful of highlight reel plays mixed in with the sloppiness. The Clippers showed some very nice play in the half court towards the end of the half, though. They still have a lot of work to do on their half court offense, but they did show flashes of just how good it can become over time, assuming they continue to develop chemistry as they should. Built Ford Tough
Great job of Paul taking control down the stretch on both ends of the floor. Crawford was torching the Clippers for most of the 4th quarter and then Paul switched onto him and I believe he didn't score a basket after that. He also came up with some big shots to really swing the momentum in the Clippers' direction. He was basically invisible for the first 3 quarters but he really stepped up in the 4th, like a superstar should. The Clippers played great defense for the first 3 quarters but in the 4th they got picked apart much like in the games against San Antonio and Chicago. They are lucky that they played so well in the first 36 minutes or else they would've blown this game with how poorly they played defensively in the 4th. A rough game for Wallace and Aldridge tonight. I realize that Aldridge scored 19 points, but I thought he was pretty bad for most of this game and he looked completely lost against the length of DeAndre Jordan. He couldn't do anything against him offensively other than force up contested jumpers. Wallace just struggled in basically every aspect of the game, although in his defense he had a few tough calls go against him.
Sħãlïq™
Better defense tonight against an offense-minded Portland team, TOs were an issue and we're still not flowing great on offense but there's been improvement on our weakest areas in team D and rebounding. Mo was also moving the ball better and not pulling the trigger on every opportunity. That little Portland run at the end wasn't appreciated but this is also a team with a lot of heart, I expected them to make a late push and not give it up easy. Chris Paul made sure the Clippers didn't blow a 17-point fourth-quarter lead Sunday night against the visiting Trail Blazers. After Portland had cut the deficit to four with 4:46 left in the game, Paul banked in a 3-point basket just before the shot clock buzzer. He later drove to the basket for a lay up after the Trail Blazers had trimmed the lead back to two with 29 seconds left and finally won a jump ball against Jamal Crawford with 4.3 seconds remaining, despite giving up five inches, clinching the 93-88 victory at Staples Center.QUOTABLE: "That's what he does, he wins games for us."-- Clippers forward Blake Griffin on Paul.http://www.nba.com/games/20120101/PORLAC/gameinfo.html#nbaGIboxscore CP3 = HUGE!!! Owner Real Deal Posted January 2, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted January 2, 2012 I don't get why the Clips take so many threes. Some of the shots that CP3 and Blake create for their teammates...I just don't know. Those teammates could step in a bit, make the shot a higher percentage jumper, or even take off to the rim and receive the pass much closer to the painted area. Check my Stats
I watched a bit of the game last night, honestly Blake Griffin just looks like a huge small forward out there to me when he plays.
Sħãlïq™
I watched a bit of the game last night, honestly Blake Griffin just looks like a huge small forward out there to me when he plays.^ Yeah, feelin' you. Had to be a larger win but I'm really happy we've won against one of the better teams of the league. Dfence was much better and i saw some more offensive plays. Butler great player, love to see him play for ur, very solid D and offense. Foye did a great job. Williams gave us a spark from the bench only he need to be kept under control, i think he wants to prove himself way to much. Biggest problem we've now is that I find our bench very weak. We miss a backup for Jordan/Griffin. Cook is doing his job but he's no threat from inside what gives us a problem when he's on the court, he's got no presence on the defensive end.
