Cleveland's Finest
Wow...I'd hate to back out of my prediction, but the Knicks look like a complete joke...one thing I forgot when picking them to win it all...Melo and Amare have no intangibles...Melo had Chauncey in Denver, and Amare had Nash in Phoenix...now I see what a terrible team this is. You can have all the star power you want, but until they start playing like a team with focus, you'll get this.
AboveLegit
Boris Diaw blew by Amare...
Built Ford Tough
The Bobcats are toying with the Knicks. Does that sound bizzare to anybody else? They are standing around dribbling down the shot clock and then with 4 seconds left they just bury a jumper. Henderson did it twice in a row and then Diaw just did it there. It is actually funny to watch.
Cleveland's Finest
Keep in mind this is the second game of a back to back for Charlotte also....smh
fish7718
Horrific effort by Stoudemire and whoever else was on Diaw and Mullens, which was Toney Douglas for half the game, can't allow them to shoot a combined 18-23 and expect to win. Still who knew Mullens and Diaw could shoot 18-23? -_-

JYD
The defense is just so horrendous. I can't make anymore comments further than that, because it'll take too much time.G'night OTR

Owner Real Deal Posted January 5, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted January 5, 2012 Well, okay...Tyson Chandler isn't Dwight Howard. We all knew that. But damn, you'd think the rest of the team would TRY to defend. Sometimes, you get the notion that Amare lets his man score for laughs. NomarFachix
There's just so little effort out there. Amar'e takes a 3 that skims the rim, his man takes off up the court, and dude is still standing on the wrong side of the halfcourt line as his man lays the ball in. Toney Douglas is shooting 36%/33% this year. B.J. Mullins, Boris Diaw, and Gerald Henderson shot 28/36 (78%) for 67 points tonight. Shump looked really good out there. He's going to be an important factor for this team this year. D'Antoni has to be on the hottest hot seat in the league right now. Problem is, Woodson's defense is playing even worse. Rut roh. Gooner
People thinking Tyson Chandler would make somebody a contender.
AboveLegit
Does anyone else think Carlisle's zone schemes really brought out the best in Chandler? Is he overrated?
Gooner
It won't take Knicks fans that long to figure out that Tyson Chandler is just not that good.
fish7718
It really had nothing to do with Tyson Chandler, the way the Bobcats were playing they had Mullens and Boris Diaw in for half the game forcing Tyson out of the paint. This left guys like Toney Douglas, Melo and Fields to just get cooked sadly but Gerald Henderson and co. When Tyson was in the paint they did their best to create shots from the outside. Credit the Bobcats for hitting their shots and having a good gameplan. The Knicks are going to have to hustle more on D if they want to stand a chance, too much standing around and watching. On offense when we pass the ball teams can't stop us, even with Amar'e being the coldest he has been since he got to NY.
NomarFachix
I actually thought Toney played pretty well on Augustin tonight. He had been pretty hot coming in. He just can't be relied on for any offense right now. The Melo/Amar'e combo is just so [expletive]ing brutal defensively, and Fields is pretty much a 0 out there right now. No chemistry, no movement, no hustle. Same old story.

Kemba and Gerald were going to work on him in the 4th tho.
NomarFachix
Yeah Gerald put up numbers in the 4th, but most of it was with Augustin/Kemba in the game, so Toney wouldn't have been outright guarding him. Kemba was scoreless in the 4th. Any time Melo was guarding Henderson it was pretty much guaranteed points. Just no desire to play D. Toney's biggest problem on screens is that he fights over top of them and Amar'e doesn't show long enough to keep the guy from immediately cutting to the basket. Happened a bunch of times tonight and I was perplexed. Surely they go over this stuff in practice?

Anyway yeah I don't know there was a time when Augustin when over a screen and Amar'e showed and went back and augustin was completely open to go to the lane. Obviously they have a lot to work on. NomarFachix
4th Q play by play shows him statless, idk. Def right about work to do. Probably won't be worked all the way out this season.
