Tyreke Evans shocked his coaches and teammates Tuesday during shoot-around when he told coach Smart to leave John Salmons in the starting line-up against the Grizzlies. Evans had missed the two previous games with a sprained left ankle and the team had responded with back-to-back quality wins. Smart has left it up to Evans as to when he will regain his starting spot on the floor. “The plan is up to him,” Smart said during pre-game. “He’s probably still going to come off the bench, he hasn’t changed it yet. It’s in his hands. Whenever he’s ready to make whatever decision, then he’ll come back when he’s ready.” Smart was asked if he would eventually make that decision for Evans and he said, “no, that’s his deal.
