Art
Speaking after the Spurs morning shootaround to prepare for Monday’s game against the Timberwolves at Target Center, Popovich said the outstanding early play of Rubio, the veteran of the Spanish ACB League who was the fifth pick of the 2009 draft, should not surprise anyone. “He’s doing exactly what Manu Ginobili did when he came (to the Spurs),” he said. “Ricky’s a veteran, he’s a pro. He’s been in big games, he’s been in tough games, he’s played against good players. He’s not going to be awed by this NBA stuff at all. He’s going to come in and play, as we’ve seen.” San Antonio Express-News

Dr. Feelgood
I've been following him since he was about 15 or 16 years old when I saw him featured in SLAM magazine and they said "Remember the name Ricky Rubio". He's really fun to watch.
AboveLegit
The thing is, the Euro game was simply too basic for him. He didn't fit in, the coach didn't formulate an offense around him, and he was left in an awkward position. He needs to play in a faster tempo offense which allows him to showcase his elite court vision and quick decision making. The reason he's had so much hype is because his game fits the NBA.
