Eric Gordon's Knee Injury Worse Than Initially Thought?

Recommended Posts

Eric Gordon has missed all but two games this season and will continue to be out as he has more tests on his knee conducted this week.

"In finding out some stuff (Sunday), we may not know anything until later on this week, probably Wednesday or Thursday," Monty Williams said. "Ideally we hoped to know more today, but we just don't. He's still getting more testing done to make sure the prognosis and diagnosis is correct. We won't have any information on him until at least Thursday, Friday, something like that."

On Jan. 6, the team announced he'd be out of action for two to three weeks to rest the injury. That three-week period ends Friday.

"I think he's getting more testing because he is a young player and such an important part of our future that we don't want to gamble on something with him and come up wrong later," Williams said.

If I remember correctly, originally it was diagnosed as a bone bruise and he would only be out for a few games.

Yet now we are nearly a month into the season and he has appeared in just two games, is expected to miss another 2-3 weeks and is needing to undergo more tests to determine what is wrong with him. It definitely makes you think that there is a more serious issue than originally reported.

Just stumbled across this on the ESPN rumors page. Does Gordon have a fractured knee cap?

Joe Gerrity at Hornets247.com heard that Gordon may have a fractured knee cap, though the Hornets told him they don't have a final diagnosis, yet. Whatever the ailment is, it appears likely to keep him out a while longer.

Considering CP3's knees were tumultuous at least with the Gordon trade the Hornets now have options to work with; via trade in Kaman, Minny's draft pick, and if worse comes to worse Eric can be waived due to injury.
