Art
Oklahoma City -- Though the New Orleans Hornets were trying to complete negotiations with shooting guard Eric Gordon on a four-year contract extension, he will be sidelined for an additional three weeks because his bruised right knee hasn’t healed properly, Coach Monty Williams said. Williams said doctors recommended for Gordon to take the additional time off after examining his knee Monday in New York. "I’m sure it’s a bone bruise, but I don’t know the other stuff that’s going on,’’ Williams said. "He’s out three weeks because the doctors said he needs three weeks to rest. "It’s more than precaution. It just hasn’t healed the way that they wanted. They still see something on his knee that they don’t like, so he’s got to take more time.’’ NOLA
