Owner Real Deal Posted February 2, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted February 2, 2012 http://basketball.realgm.com/images/nba/4.2/wiretap/photos/2006/Martin_Kenyon_den_090413.jpg Kenyon Martin is expected to decide by this weekend which NBA team he’ll join. The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks have expressed interest in signing Martin. Martin signed with Xinjiang Gyang Hui of the Chinese Basketball Association, but has since returned to the United States. He’s not eligible to sign with an NBA team until Xinjiang’s season ends, which could be as soon as Feb. 16. “He’s a veteran guy who knows how to win at a high level and in a playoff environment,” one NBA general manager said. “He also plays multiple positions. If you get him to a situation where he can be an Antonio McDyess-type of guy, that’s a heck of a guy to add to your roster.”http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=mc-spears_kenyon_martin_nba_013112

JYD
I think he will end up in Miami. I don't want the Knicks to get him; rather save the money for a G.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 2, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 2, 2012 Why Miami? I don't see him doing that. He can't really play the five, and he won't get any minutes behind Bosh and Haslem.
Need4Sheed
Never know, maybe he doesnt want that many mins. Ya know? He would prob get more than Haslem. Dude has been beastin in the CBA if I'm not mistaken. Still it's the CBA doe.
JYD
Why Miami? I don't see him doing that. Nitro
Why Miami? I don't see him doing that. He can't really play the five, and he won't get any minutes behind Bosh and Haslem. If Joel Anthony, who is no taller than 6'7'' and can't rebound, can play center, then K-Mart can. Bosh and Haslem get virtually all the other minutes at center, and neither of them are more capable than Martin at center, either.
NomarFachix
Howard Beck @HowardBeckNYTContinue to hear that Knicks' interest in Kenyon Martin is modest, at best. Won't do backflips to get him. More interest in J.R. Smith.
DunkinDerozan
If he goes to the Lakers it gives them the freedom to trade Pau. Edited February 2, 2012 by DemarDerozanDunk
NomarFachix
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA After China failed to respond to request for Letter of Clearance for Kenyon Martin, FIBA made surprising decision to grant it, sources say. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Belief was China wouldn't issue OK to let KMart play in NBA until Chinese season was done; FIBA ruled it OK in last 24 hours, sources say. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Kenyon Martin is on visit to Atlanta today, intrigued w/ significant role he could play w/ Hawks, sources say. Clips, Heat high on list too. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Because of FIBA clearance, KMart selection process will move faster, sources say. Scenario: Weekend decision, physical w/ team on Monday. *Swish*
I heard he's going to land with the Clippers for one year which could be great for him since the Clippers have a lot of talent right now but also for the team. He could really bring that veteran spirit and that aggressiveness to backup Blake Griffin
YugoRocketsFan
I am surprised the Rockets aren't after him with how bad Scola has been this year.
Lemon
I would guess K-Mart goes to Clippers over Heat. He'll easily take Evans and Cookie's minutes. With how easily DJ can get fouls, he'd be a great addition.
TheNotoriousBANG
China is trying to block the move Between all that debt and Kenyon Martin, China just about owns half of America
