Owner Real Deal Posted February 9, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted February 9, 2012 Would you say the Kings need a true playmaker, or are they just full of bad shooters and low-percentage shot-takers that have no idea what a team is (or both...that's probably your answer)? They are currently dead last in FG% (at 40.6%), dead last in assists (just 16.2 a game), 27th in overall offense, 24th in points, 28th in 3PT%, and this is all despite having: Tyreke EvansMarcus ThorntonJohn SalmonsDeMarcus CousinsJimmer FredetteJJ Hickson Of course, they are very bad on the defensive end as well...but that's expected, looking at their roster. Why does this team shoot so badly, and how much would they benefit from having a Steve Nash (you knew I would throw it in there)?
Dash
Too many "me" guys who don't take high percentage and don't compliment each other very well. Steve Nash would help everyone on this besides maybe Tyreke Evans, who needs the ball in his hands to be effective and can't shoot at all (30.4% shooter on all jumpshots and a 24.6% three point shooter). Sacramento really needs to sell high on Evans like Milwaukee needs to with Brandon Jennings, any team with those two as franchise players doesn't have much of a future. Its either that or find a legitimate pass first point guard and then slide Evans over to the 2, but the only way I find that acceptable is if the Kings' offense flows through Cousins and not Evans. YugoRocketsFan
There's nothing wrong, they're just a mediocre team.
Nitro
Evans/Thornton do not compliment each other at all, and both player better when the other is either out or is invisible on the court. Neither are efficient, and that's an issue when they are taking so many shots and have a center who is taking a lot of shots and is also inefficient. I still have a relatively high opinion on Evans and what he could be with the right system and role players around him, though, and Cousins is really evolving into a very, very good offensive/rebounding big man. Basically, if you dump one of Thornton/Evans, and give them a true PG who is efficient shooting the 3, I think the offense skyrockets. Newman
They just need to be more consistent and play with the same effort every single game. The talent is there.
