the way you post articles makes no sense. why post articles about the pacers/magic in the LAKERS board?!

He actually enrichens the topic's content with secondary quotes. The articles about the Pacers/Magic are relevant since all three teams were interested in J.R. Smith. Three different sources give you a deeper perspective on the story. The Pacers not intending to sign Smith is an important information that doesn't appear in the first source. So it's actually pretty good work by ART as he avoids posting quotes too long.

Obviously Smith is the younger, more proven and better fit for the Lakers, but personally I think they should get either (or both) without hesitation. I truly believe Arenas still has a little bit left in the tank and can give them some (streaky) firepower off the bench that none of their backcourt besides Kobe can provide.

Maybe he's trying to break the mold. You can't deny his style is unique.

Back on topic -- Lakers attend Arenas’ private workout:

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Los Angeles Lakers officials have attended a private workout for Gilbert Arenas in Southern California, according to a Yahoo! Sports report. The report Sunday, citing anonymous sources, says the Lakers are considering the free-agent guard to boost their struggling offense.

The 30-year-old Arenas was let go by the Orlando Magic in the preseason under the league’s amnesty provision. After he was traded to Orlando a year ago, Arenas made little impact in 49 games, averaging eight points. He played sparingly over the previous three seasons because of injuries and a 50-game NBA suspension for bringing a gun into the locker room.

According to the LA Times, signing J.R. Smith could be difficult for Lakers:

Swingman appears interested, but Lakers can offer only a small salary, and there are other teams in the mix.

J.R. Smith, center, could sign with the Lakers if he's willing to play for less pay.

The Lakers have joined the race for free agent J.R. Smith, a forward-guard who could solve two problems at once for them. Smith would help at small forward and also provide backup support for Kobe Bryant at shooting guard. Smith, 26, has played in China since the NBA season began. He signed with a Chinese pro team during the NBA lockout and was forced to honor the contract until this month. There are plenty of hurdles for the Lakers here. Because the Lakers were well over the salary cap and spent their mini-mid-level exception on Josh McRoberts, they can offer Smith only the comparatively small salary of about $450,000, the prorated portion of the veterans' minimum. Smith made $6.8 million last season with Denver.

Furthermore, Smith is being pursued by several other teams he listed on his Twitter page: New York, Chicago, Indiana, Orlando and the Clippers. Just the same, Smith seemed somewhat eager about the Lakers, writing on Twitter that he "Just had a great talk with Coach [Mike] Brown!"

Does he eat boxes full of tacos or the actual cardboard taco box? Because one of those sounds like a good time.

Or were you talking about a Mexican vajayjay?

All 3 seem like something lkr would do, but the first is what I was referring too

Arenas Ready For The Comeback?

By Sekou Smith

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS – We asked a last week if it was time for the Los Angeles Lakers to consider signing Gilbert Arenas to help shore up their point guard deficiencies and the response was overwhelmingly (84 percent) in favor of the Lakers doing exactly that. But other than the reports that Arenas was in Los Angeles for a workout that was attended by Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchack, among others, we had no idea what the full scope of a potential comeback attempt by Arenas entailed. We have a much better idea now after reading this detailed interview with Arenas, courtesy of our main man Sam Amick of SI.com, who delves deep into the psyche of the man formerly known as Agent Zero.
