magicbalala245
Who do y'all think is the 6 to 8 teams in the race for Dwight Howard Down to 6 to 8 teams http://blogs-images.forbes.com/daviddisalvo/files/2011/12/dwight-howard.jpg Magic General Manager Otis Smith said the list of teams who are still calling about the possibility of acquiring or "renting" Dwight Howard are down to "six to eight." "I'd say everybody in the league has called us. …but this late, it's six to eight," Smith said before the Magic faced the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. Smith said there was "nothing new to report" about Howard's situation. With the trade deadline next Wednesday, Smith wouldn't get into any specifics about Howard. "We still have a ways to go. It's early," he said. "Usually nothing gets done until the 15th." Howard has been talking with Magic CEO Alex Martins, who remains hopeful that the franchise can convince their superstar center to stay. Howard has an early-termination option in his contract and can become a free agent after the season. He told the Magic he preferred to be dealt to the New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks or Los Angeles Lakers. The Magic said when Howard presented his trade-request list early in training camp in December that they seek compensation if Howard had made up his mind to leave Orlando. Smith said he expects some trade activity around the league at the deadline.
YugoRocketsFan
One of them is definitely the Rockets, but thats because Morey is always trying to get a superstar I am sure Lakers, Nets are in there.

How can Net's land Dwight Howard with their center piece Brook Lopez on the sideline for 3 weeks. Is it allowed in the NBA to trade injured players. But for what Lopez has endured this season if I am not mistaken a torn ACL and now a severe sprained ankle on the same leg he tore that ACL now he is fairly or not labeled damaged goods. I am sure that lowers his trade value but I wouldn't call him damaged goods. He still is a young center with tons of potential and could easily be a go-to player offensively, infact I would say that he is better offensively then Dwight although Dwight is better at everything else. The Nets still have a few assets to add like Marshon Brooks, Anthony Morrow and Kris Humphries. The Nets are obviously in the running. Owner Real Deal Posted March 6, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted March 6, 2012 LakersNetsMavericksCelticsWarriorsBullsRocketsHawks Didn't have to think too hard for that one. Lakers, Nets, Mavs, Warriors, Celtics and Bulls are your top six...all confirmed to be interested in December. Bulls may be less interested, now that they have acquired the best record in the NBA, but I'm thinking they still know they need something to get them over the top. I imagine the Kings have picked up the phone as well, and so has Cleveland. Surprisingly enough, I'm not really sure if the Clippers have been interested. I did see a rumor that said they would ask, but it wasn't a reliable source, and really, Sterling got what he wanted with CP3, so I doubt he tries to alter the team right now (in a big way). Cleveland's Finest
I doubt it, you guys have no assets. Shannon Brown, Morris, and Gortat with a few first rounders? Maybe throw in Frye for more 3 point shooting for Orlando? Gortat is a solid starting center, Brown has potential.

Mentch
I think the Warriors will get closer to a trade than most people think. The Magic have been pursuing Monta Ellis for a while now, and their team seems to favor 3 point shooters too. I really want Ellis to go to a good team, hes been stuck on the Warriors for too long

Cleveland's Finest
Ok...still though, if you are getting a few first rounders, a starting center and starting shooting guard, and if they get rid of Hedo....it's better to get more like Denver did for Melo than to do Dwight for Bynum and not much more. Gortat's averaging a double double a game, and Brown was MIP last year. Frye averages 10 ppg...It's not like you are getting that little in return. And to show that it really isn't that crazy an idea, here's the trade machine's results from ESPN: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7hsgwcz Edited March 7, 2012 by Cleveland's Finest

Not really relevant injuries other than concern over his broken foot. Thing with teams renting Dwight, the trade value the Nets offer is still better. Any team wanting Dwight for rent is in a playoff position. I don't see him being traded though but who knows!
The Regime
Bosh for Dwight....done deal I know you're probably joking, but no way in hell is he going to a team where he isn't the "guy". He'll pass on being the third wheel in Miami.

We might never lose a game if we made that trade and Bosh > Bynum and Brook to be quite honest. If it meant rings you know he'd at least strongly consider it. You also know that if he went to LA he wouldn't be "the guy" right? Edited March 7, 2012 by Flash
